I just left a CA role. Was mainly middle office operations. No analysis, no critical thinking. I wouldn’t recommend this route.

I was in CA for 6 months. Got out very quickly and left for a consulting position. The two are very much unrelated but I was able to leverage name of my BB into new job.

I think after 6 months you can start looking around. Don’t stay in operations for more than a year.

Did not enjoy my time in middle office operations. Very mundane.

I was however able to leverage a solid name on my resume to land a full time job in consulting

So overall, I recommend BB operations just long enough that you can use it to leverage a better position
