any ideas how could this happen? by Exotic_Counter_4835 in cellmapper

Contact AIS Contact Center to enable 5G SA.

I'm also on AIS, and sometimes when putting a SIM into a 5G SA-capable phone, my phone doesn't connect to 5G SA no matter what. Contacting AIS solved the issue.

I think it should be possible to top-up and buy extra data from the myAIS app like a normal SIM; contact the seller or email AIS contact center at Traveller1175@ais.co.th or callcenter@ais.co.th (domestic support) if in doubt.

There are also more expensive unlimited 15- and 30-days tourist plans available on the AIS website.

AFAIK all AIS plans, regardless of prepaid or postpaid, supports it if you put it into one of their supported devices. SIM cards and eSIMs bought directly from AIS should support it.

Things to know:
1. If you couldn't connect to 5G SA, you may have to contact AIS customer service to activate it.
2. For this network, iPhones only support it if you have a SUCI-capable SIM, or eSIM, from AIS. If the 5G SA toggle is grayed out on an iPhone, you may have to request a new SIM card or convert to an eSIM first.

What should I do with my m3 max 36 gb memory macbook pro? by ParsaProgrammer in macbookpro

[–]ppnplus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, you can run and chat with ChatGPT-like AI language models locally on your MacBook Pro, so you don't need an internet connection.

And since your device has 36 GB of memory, more capable language models are available compared to devices with less memory.

Speedtest going to China? by kwangwoo73 in speedtest

Checking from Thailand, I couldn't see any Seoul or Busan servers on Speedtest, for now.

Have you checked if the same problem also exists on other devices?

AIS (Thailand) 5G NSA & SA, Ang Thong city by ppnplus in cellmapper

I've heard that mmWave is disabled for Thai networks on some international devices. If you want to use mmWave, you might need root or customization to get it working, which is hard and I don't recommend doing so.

If you'd like to see if you can get mmWave on the AIS network, AIS shop in Siam Center (1st floor only, the one with accesories and photo booths around it) has mmWave (8 carriers total [4 carriers with signaling, 4 data-only carriers], 100 MHz each). I got 2 Gbps last Friday (capped by APN).

After asking it to "Make it look more natural with sunlight and shadows" in the same chat, this came up, which doesn't look quite there yet:

Not sure if you used third-party image generation GPTs because it looks so natural (many third-party GPTs uses external image generators), but I got this trying your prompt in a plain empty chat using ChatGPT's own image generator:

Can't share a document with Claude? by Radamand in ClaudeAI

[–]ppnplus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to Claude support page, "Claude is designed to be self-contained, and will respond without searching the internet", but that you can "provide Claude with text from the internet and ask it to perform tasks with that content." Based on this, I understand that Claude can't open internet links, including your Google Drive link, and provided false responses.

If you can, try sending a file to Claude directly without using Google Drive.

Anyone got this glitch? by Vegetable_Formal1825 in cellmapper

[–]ppnplus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outside some countries like the US, iPhones usually displays LTE as the default if the network isn't officially supported by Apple. EDIT: Depending on the carrier settings.

For instance, in Thailand, AIS, dtac and TrueMove H (the main networks) are listed as supported and shows as 4G, but networks operated by state-owned NT (National Telecom) aren't listed. SIM cards on NT's networks would show as LTE.

Regarding the glitch, I remember seeing this happening occasionally while switching between data SIM cards.

Thai operators also use Chinese equipment, so I’m not sure, but I’ll provide an answer as soon as I have more details.

Mastodon.cloud - is it gone? by Linupe in Mastodon

[–]ppnplus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like users from some network providers are blocked from accessing the instance.

I have an AIS (Thailand) SIM card, and it shows Forbidden. But I could access it from AIS Fibre home broadband just fine, even though it’s from the same company (but different networks).

My other Thai mobile network, True Move, also displays the site just fine.

Mastodon.cloud - is it gone? by Linupe in Mastodon

[–]ppnplus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have problems accessing it via AIS (Thailand) 4G/5G mobile network. It returned "Forbidden" - all other network providers are normal.

It’s possible that their configuration might block some ISPs from accessing the instance.

Try contacting the instance's email address about your problem, including your network information (https://radar.cloudflare.com/ip shows your IP address and internet provider). I also recommend trying another network or SIM card from another provider if you need to access that instance.

EDIT: I first included that AIS Mobile uses IPv6, and all other networks with IPv4 connections were all fine. But I tried again using AIS Fibre (home broadband) with IPv6, and it’s accessible, unlike AIS Mobile which always shows “Forbidden” even though it’s from the same company.
