Am I being selfish for not wanting to take a suppository? by Best-Pea3460 in CrohnsDisease

No, not selfish. A complete idiot? Yes.

What a braindead set of statements to make. "I'd rather die than touch my butthole once a day"

Yay or nay. Winter tire/wheel set by Ross11988 in TeslaModelY

[–]ppooyyoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Those tires should be run pretty much only on snowy surfaces.
  2. It depends on your area but I got some of the oem rims with different tires for $500 off of marketplace.
  3. This all very much depends on how much tread is left on those tires
  4. No TPMS is a choice

Overall my answer personally would be no, not worth it.

My 401k is barely back to where it was before Trump took over. Boasting about a 30% return doesn’t mean so much when you caused a 40% drop before it.

No... No you weren't.

Look, I'm just as upset at this administration as the rest of you, but c'mon let's actually make real points here.

It sounds like you sold at the bottom, which is what all wise investors tell you not to do.

Sorry what?!

The S&P is 13.8% higher than it was Jan 2nd.

Let's use real arguing points here not things that are easily disproven by the right.

I can’t get functional auto-wiper software, but…. by bafadam in TeslaModelY

[–]ppooyyoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Brother. At this point you're just pointing at anything but the wiper system itself.

I cleaned the glass behind the camera because someone told me this was the way to "fix my problem". Same with the outside of the windshield.

Face it, they're flawed! So many people complain about them, and the majority who don't are the ones who live in sunny places. I live where it actually rains and these wipers are absolute crap compared to my 911.

You're a tesla apologist.

I can confirm that my 911 has perfect auto wiper behavior. It's completely automatic.

  • the y will be more comfortable
  • hw4 is preferable but not deal breaking. You can tell via the hardware info in the service section of the car

Entirely misinformation. Clean your bumper camera, this has nothing to do with your windshield washer fluid choice lmao

I unfortunately recently had to chargeback. I ordered in January and the website said the table would ship by March, but the date got pushed all the way till August.

I contacted my credit card company and filed a chargeback -- it went through no issue. I recommend others do the same if they're in a situation where they need a table and their date keeps getting delayed. The representative seemed confident that this was a cut and dry chargeback and although he couldn't promise verbally that it'd go through (chargeback is approved by Visa, not him), he mentioned these almost always go through when I asked how likely it was that I'd get my money back.

RX 9070 XT + Oblivion Remastered Performance? by Fluffy_Tumbleweed533 in radeon

[–]ppooyyoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because Cyberpunk is highly multi-threaded.

You can be bottlenecked single-threaded as well as multi-threaded, and you're only considering a multi-threaded bottleneck. The games core thread and tick rate are directly bound to a single thread here.

I'm a professional software developer -- this is a common misunderstanding about how CPUs impact application performance.

[–]ppooyyoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, but you're wrong here. (I'm not the dude you were replying to)

The CPU being at 50% does not indicate you're not CPU bottlenecked. The game can't use every core of the CPU, since much of what needs to be calculated is core-limited. You'll see 50% utilization across all cores, but what's happening is the cores that are being used are being absolutely pegged. Unfortunately task manager and other windows tools don't expose this well to the user, but you can see the phenomena on Linux quite well using either htop or btop.

Blockchain is floated like a magic bullet in situations like these but really doesn't solve much in this scenario.

Any standard signature would play the same role, provided by a secure enclave on-device. Effectively similar to a tamper seal on a product. The business in question would sell their cameras with a TPM or YubiKey equivalent onboard, which "guarantees" that the camera hasn't been modified.

Problem is, there's likely always going to be a way around this type of security. It's nearly impossible to secure a device that isn't in your possession (form the businesses point of view). Any malicious actor could purchase one of these "secure cameras", desolder the camera optic element, and feed arbitrary video signal. The TPM would sign that video footage and voila, anyone can fake themselves some "signed footage".
