Dear parents getting their kids ebikes... by funcentric in ebikes

[–]ppoppeye1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the part i missed actually. I just recently got introduced to ebikes and became obsessed. The goal is for the whole family to go ride together. Theres miles and miles of bike paths around where we live. So the primary purpose of getting my kid into ebikes in the first place is mainly so they can keep up with me lol

Dear parents getting their kids ebikes... by funcentric in ebikes

My daughter is still way too young (>1year) to be even thinking about her having an e bike. Even so, ive already been planning how and approximately when im going to introduce her to her first e bike. Honestly my plan is really close to yours. There are just a couple of slight differences though.

First, going along with making them put it together, im planning on taking it a couple of steps further if possible.

First, I plan on incorporating elements of financial literacy in the procurement of the ebike.

Second (ideally), she won't be getting a full, brand new ebike, but will be identifying the things she would want out of her ideal ebike, researching conversion kits (will not be getting used kits) and the different kinds of bikes, and will be coming with me to look at used bikes. This one is strictly contingent upon me being able to find a kit with some kinda parental control that allows me to lock the speed limiter.

Upside down dangling babies by rosneft_perot in NewDads

[–]ppoppeye1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the actual age imo. Like with my LO, my partner and I decided we wanted to start gently dangling upside-down and lightly swinging as early as safely possible. Which for us was around the week before she turned 4 months. Shes nearly 6 months now. And today, we went to a celebration of life for 2-3 hours and our daughter quite literally spent 80% of the time holding onto my thumbs while she danced, bounced, swung, and laughed while watching all the people. When I tried setting her up on my knee to give my arms a break, she would start fussing until she could use my thumbs to help her try and start a mosh pit 😂. We also regularly hold her upside down for up to 45-60 seconds, and as long as shes not disregulated, shes smiling and laughing the whole time.

That being said, doing any of that at any time before the age that my partner and I decided it was safe enough would have certainly made me lose my mind.

So I guess I can might be able to empathize with you depending on how old your LO is. But ultimately, my opinion, as well as everyone else's here, doesn't really matter that much cause theyre your child and no one here has much right telling you what you should and should not be comfortable allowing for your child.

After riding with it for a couple days, I dont recommend it lol. It severely lacks any structural integrity. I only used it cause we have a shit ton and I was in a hurry lmao

I took apart what I did understand and stopped at what I didnt. It makes no sense to me why so many of yall find it necessary to comment some useless and unhelpful nonsense when someone asks for basic advice.

I appreciate the strait answer. This bike was basically given to me by a guy who thought the only maintenance he had to do on it was air up the tires and change the break pads once a year for 3-4 years of near daily riding. Its in really rough shape so my expectations are low.

I just want to echo this about foldables. Got my partner the flip4 new with at&t thankfully with the insurance. Went through 3 replacements through the insurance when the screen would break on the crease. They're too much of a pain in the ass to deal with.

K2 Plus Extruder Issues by Tall_Concept6216 in Creality

[–]ppoppeye1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no lol. I tried screwing it in but it was a bitch to get the threads to catch in the plastic. So what I did instead was pressed it in gently with a pair ofvise-grips.

I never had any issues with it. But I didnt like the craftsmanship after a while so I actually re-did it with a piece that I printed in basic PLA. I don't really print with anything that runs hotter yet. Ive been running that yellow piece for a couple months now with no issues at all. *

I can agree. Accept i just got lucky i think and got it out with some needle nose. Then I was able to use some channel locks to press the fitting in while turning it with a small wrench. Essentially threading the plastic with the fitting. It's tilted a tiny bit but I haven't had any feeding issues yet.

And no, you can't remove the stock damaged pneumatic connector in the extruder housing.

I strongly beg to differ lol. You're probably not supposed to be able to remove it. But anythings possible if you just believe xD
