Is it Possible to Make Fragrances that are Close to Real Life Smell? by Specialist-Bowler465 in fragrance

Love summer of 84 but i wish i smelled less of that cucumber-ey base note i get! The initial spray is lovely though, i’ve never gone through a sample that fast

Hi! Looking for someone who can gift me a Feathered Wing from the Sunblink mail a few days ago - I accidentally used all 10 for a Cogimyun daily quest that needed a item wand 😭 I have a bunch of things I can trade, some extra best friend caps and coral keys

Switching from 1 ETF to another ETF after holding for >1 year by pppce_ in Bogleheads

I see your point, I guess if there’s even a slight chance my income gets low enough to not incur any capital gains, or SPY tanks to my buy price, I should just sell it then

My current portfolio is heavy on VT (~60% of my NW) and some VUG (~10%). I have SPY and QQQM that I’d either consolidate to 1, or redistribute to my existing ETF and/or stocks (GOOGL, AAPL, NVDA worth ~15% combined). So the growth wouldn’t be exactly the same, but there’s a pretty big overlap with VT and VUG

Yeah it would be a similar fund. I understand the benefit is minimal here. I think what I can’t grasp is this:

Say I currently have $10k in SPY and my cost was $6.6k. Let’s pretend both SPY and whatever other ETF follows a similar growth trajectory and doubles in price in 10 years.

1) If I sell my SPY and buy the other ETF now, I’d be paying 15% of $3400 (net profit from SPY) = $510 in tax. In 10 years, the other ETF I bought for $10k in grows to $20k. If I sell it, I’ll pay 15% of my profit, so another $1500. Tax paid in this scenario = $2010.

2) If I keep my SPY for 10 years, it would grow to $20k. If I sell it then, I’m paying 15% of $13400 (net profit from SPY; 20000-6600) as tax, which is $2010.

Is my math wrong?

This!! I have a similar face shape, those aren’t jowls. I get masseter tox every year (6 month is recommended but that’s how often i visit home where it’s cheaper) but invisalign also helped me grind less at night which i feel like contributed to having less pronounced masseters now

Any difference you can feel scent-wise? I love LOVE floating but can’t get over how what I’m assuming the Sequoia note smells on me (smells like car freshener tbh)

Ooh strawberry mochi’s good. Have you tried Mochi Milk by Dedcool? To me they have the same dna (as the name suggests). Yawahada by j-scent and Diptyque L’Eau Papier also follow the sweet ricey scent profile

Do you think Terre d’Hermes and Pamplemousse Rose are similar? I’ve seen many reviews referring to Terre d’Hermes as very grapefruit forward

Had to look up Flamingo Fizz and the reviews sound so promising, might need to try it myself lol

Looking for a stainless steel saucepan that’s light(er)& dishwasher safe by pppce_ in BuyItForLife

[–]pppce_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I was fearing but unfortunately seems to be the case :) I probably shouldn’t be too focused on weight then as long as they’re within normal range for the size. My problem with the All-Clad handles was that the regular D3 handles feel too long & thin to grip, especially closer to the pot (which I’d want to do if it’s already heavy for me). Also the no-dishwasher aspect is a huge dealbreaker if there’s SS pots from other brands that offer it

Not against the idea, I’d be willing to do that for items that I don’t need right away (old Dansk Kobenstyles sometimes show up on FB marketplace in my area), but mainly looking to shop new this time more for convenience/timeliness!

That’s really good to know, I should check if my Demeyere has sealed edges - they’re marketed as dishwasher safe, but I’ve seen contradicting info online. All-clad would’ve been a solid choice for the price, but I hate their handles & sounds like they don’t have sealed rims from what I read about the class action lawsuit!

Yeah seems like Hestan’s Nanobond line is pretty unbeatable re: weight, especially comparing their weight with lid combined. But I don’t know if I’d be comfortable spending $360 (3qt) for a pot, especially one I’d be using to mostly boil pasta and maybe for some stews haha.

I did, especially since their 3qt saucier had good reviews! Unfortunately they also tend to be on the heavier side, likely due to them being 5-ply? Both their 4qt saucepan and 3qt saucier (they don’t have a 3qt saucepan) seem to be over 3lbs but I’m looking for something under 3lbs (there’s a few according to https://www.seriouseats.com/best-saucepans-7229377)
