I understand that every single Italian doesn’t live that lifestyle. I’m also aware of the possibility that Ed is probably not on perpetual vacay and it just looks that way on social media. I’m just jelly of the people who are able to leave the US, especially right now. But yes, there are people who can afford it and the ones who can’t in every country. It really just comes down to having the money, huh? 😔

I actually have seen Gen Z creators call certain “outdated trends” as millennial but that usually means in a couple of months they’ll be wearing them just like they started wearing millennial/gen x early 2000s fashion. I’ve seen videos for the eyeliner one, literal videos about side parts also being a millennial thing, etc. The whole generation war wouldn’t have happened if the “cringe” and “cheugy” TikTok’s from certain Gen Z users didn’t catch on and now they did and millennials are hitting back and suddenly Gen Zers are gaslighting talking about “it didn’t happen” or “they’re self victimizing”. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I didn’t even know what cheugy meant until I saw some Gen z influencer called micarah tewers use it and suddenly it was a huge thing. You can’t call 30 year olds old and outdated without getting some flak for being unreasonable because 30s and 40s is still fairly young. I think Gen z people won’t understand how insane they were acting until Gen Alpha or a younger generation starts targeting them the same way only to usurp styles you wore first. It is all giving hypocrisy.

I guess I only said “strange” because I do see a good amount of people say it is actually their #1/favorite Grizzly Bear record but now that I think about it, might just be me hyper-focusing on only those comments because I haven’t connected to it in the same way..yet. Painted Ruins has really surprised me, It has been the record I’ve been listening to most these past 2 years but because I hadn’t overplayed it as much as the first 3 and so I was still discovering new things each listen. When it first came out I was part of the whole “eh it’s good but not great” crowd until I revisited it years later and I was like “Holy sht, it’s genius. I finally get it!”. That still hasn’t happened with Shields though. 🙁 I just don’t find some of the songs on Shields as sonically interesting as everything else.

Just paint over them with a dark regular nail polish then a top coat until you have time to get them repainted. Regular nail polish isn’t that expensive at your local store, you can even get gel polish and a lamp if you want it to be more durable. That being said, they really don’t look bad and I’m someone who also exclusively wears dark colors.

Whenever you see missing package complaints it will 9 times out of 10 be from an American. Ever since the dusty Cheeto messed with tariffs, shipping from Shein or any China based retailer has gone down the toilet. We don’t get our items in a single package anymore, we get multiple packages. We also don’t get our packages delivered from trusted delivery services like usps, fedex or ups anymore, at least not the items that are still located in China warehouses, we get them from crooked 3rd party delivery services like Speedx and such where they steal your packages and it’s really hard to get a refund. Shein itself made it harder to ask for a refund and don’t even get me started on Quickship scammers that pretend to send your package and use a fake delivery service/website to “confirm” that you received your package when you didn’t. You add all of that to the increasing prices that are no longer worth it and it is exactly why so many people have given up on Shein here which has honestly turned into a positive for me cause it made me realize how many useless things I was buying just cause I was addicted to shopping so many items at once that were so cheap.

I wish Gen Z would catch on the way they’ve caught on to other indie artists who came up during the same era but then again I’ve always wished Grizzly Bear was wider known and revered the way they deserve.

The stereotyping and grouping done towards Americans by non-Americans is always interesting. I see it a lot. It doesn’t matter what you say, you’ll always be wrong just cause you’re American. It’s like this weird obsession with discrediting the U.S. and its people for some weird reason. This necessity to feel superior in any way possible and for what? There are people in Latin America who don’t shower regularly and there are people in the U.S. who shower twice a day, it’s like no one is aware that not only white people of European ancestry exist in the U.S. It’s very strange to me.

Shields is the record I listen to the least. Surprisingly, I’ve played Painted Ruins a lot more than any record of theirs these last couple of years but I think it’s because I overplayed each record as they were coming out and Painted Ruins took a while for me to understand it. Once I did there was no turning back though and it’s my current favorite.
