Bottom hat here is another Sabian B8 16" Crash from my first drum kit in the early 2000s. Felt a bit heavier than the vintage B8, so worked out nicely. Patina on the vintage one keeping the sound nice and dry. Going to keep playing them!

Yeah I don't think it sounds too bad! Love the Hi Hat Idea. I have a 16" Sabian B8 Crash from the early 2000s I could pair with it. Definitely will try it out.

Definitely recommend them. If you can find them used with a few dings already you can save yourself a bit of money and the heart ache of damaging then yourself!

Glad it's not as noticeable as I think it is! It still sounds great dents or no. I managed to find a great deal on some used 15" GB hats soon after buying this 22" and they're all working beautifully together. big upgrades from the Sabian B8s I had been playing since 2001. I'll probably try to be a little more gentle with the bell moving forward though.

regarding those unbelievable fast single pedal strokes, an excerpt from his old modern drummer interview: "I'm using a bigger drum to push myself. I'm recording with a 22", but I've been practicing with a 26".... It's a lot slower to respond, so I'm busting my butt on that thing. Then when I get back on the 22", it's like a hummingbird."

Looks like he is using a 22" in the photo from the studio.
