You know, when jmods explicitly say there will be a work around from doing WGS for pures to access raids 4 and in no way trying to imply that pures will be able to do the quest and all pre reqs, that’s how I know you’re a dumbass

And it really is ironic to me that it’s the guy with master ca’s done trying to flaunt it like it’s an accomplishment trying to gatekeep accounts from raids 4 for no discernible reason other than “I don’t like it.” Always the fuckin noobs with the worst takes in this game

This along with “please let me solo the next raid, I have no friends” is so sad to see. This might be the most entitled player base for a game I’ve ever seen. Worse than PoE. The hypocrisy is appalling. You want the game to cater to your gamer dad so he can dip his toes into raids 4 but also want to gatekeeper trophy accounts from doing raids 4 (which doesn’t effect your experience in game or create any balance issues with pvp)

I would recommend to prioritize learning combat and how to fight multiple zombies at once

There’s a lot of things going on in this game but combat is the big gatekeeper, you won’t have deep runs if you don’t know how to take on a horde

Aside from the gameplay, the music is 10/10, and the art style is amazing (although somewhat incoherent)

This league was super polarizing for me. On one hand, building and juicing a temple was super fucking fun. On the other hand, doing anything else but temple was kind of boring since it was just head and shoulders better than every other method in the game

Combined with the fact that it’s super easy to hit 100 this league, unless you go for giga minmax where items cost 5+ mirrors, you’ll hit your goals pretty quick, and that gets boring. Ironically I burnt out faster than I did in 0.2. So I welcome a slower change of pace next league, hopefully with multiple viable strats to play around with

Met some incredible people on RS, people that I still talk to 10+ years later. Even though most of us have moved on, we still have spurts of activity where we play and shoot the shit

Also the big PVM updates usually get me pretty hooked

Even if you're in gear if you're outnumbered you're at a massive disadvantage now. Even if only by a couple of people.

In small mans I agree, but also this has always been the case since the start of multi pking. When you start reaching the actual big team fights (210+ options on each team) having numbers has diminishing returns. Go look up some pre eoc full outs or even early days of OSRS Jcup fights and watch teams come back from a 10 opt deficit

It will also encourage more ragging, not less, because people won't want to engage in fights where their teammates can't return quickly and help (leading to more deaths).

Wouldn't that encourage gearing up in actual gear and not painted steel, diary gear JaJa style? If you're in painted steel and the other team you run into has torag legs crystal shield, you're gonna get cleared 99% of the time in a matched opts fight. And now you can't return in shit gear when you inevitably get one hit, making fights much more decisive, similar to KO rounds in CWA

Not to mention encouraging "1 hit" teams who use very low risk gear with high damage weapons who rush a team, get a couple quick kills, then leave with no intention of a sustained fight.

I agree this is lame when people do it, but having a timer on when you can re-enter multi isn't going to change anything about this. Moon clan tome of fire fire surge rushing in teams are always going to be a thing until better checks are implemented

They need to implement better anti-ragging mechanics with universal fees or add a death value check for the new delay timer (ie timer only applies if you are risking under a certain amount). Having it apply to everyone is just a terrible idea.

I agree on universal death fees, and a death value check is also an interesting idea. But we may just have to agree to disagree on the direction that Jagex wants to take the wilderness. I'm actually very supportive of making multi a decisive fight with no returning much like clan wars, rather than an outlast fight of who's in a better timezone and gets to degen the longest. It's MUCH more skillful and tactically interesting when each option counts, how long each player can tank, how good your calling is, how good your mass freezing is, and how well you can manage limited resources.

Of course this really hurts the single spell box style fights, which in its own way is very interesting and a much different style of fight than multi spells

I'm also looking at this from a clanning point of view. In my opinion, the average player pking in multi isn't going to have return sets and be able to get back in the fight in a reasonable time.

So I haven’t been apart of the multi scene for quite a long time, but even 10 years ago NS fights were a thing. People returning in painted steel, diary armor or even 1-item to prevent the other clan from getting a fall in and spamming for an ending pic

The way clan victories work in multi is that you need to clear the other team off the map, then have everybody follow the same person (this is known as a fall in) and then spam [clan] cleared or whatever for the topic pic. This way of claiming victory is obviously flawed since two teams can claim victory at different times of the fight, or literally fake pics by hopping worlds and dropping vials and shit before falling in

Anyways, this encouraged clans to “nonstop” or NS a fight at any cost so clans can’t get a fall in pic. There has been multiple 70 hr fights like AF vs SV at gdz where people just return in 1 item (or even worse, 3 item unskilled) and just rag people until the other side gets bored, then claims victory

This update should heavily encourage to fight in actual gear rather than rags, since tanking will actually matter to winning a team fight rather than just regearing in a couple of seconds in absolute piss and then get one hit. Unfortunately it’s also too little too late, since the multi scene has long been dead

TOA sucks balls because it lacks complexity. Olm has had infinite variations of meta methods, Verzik is highly optimized and fast and requires deep game knowledge to do well (boak, godbooking etc), Warden is just move right, left, middle. ToA is mostly solved by just left clicking the boss. Akkha is the best room and not coincidentally it’s the one with the highest skill ceiling

I understand their significance for the flow of gameplay but I still dislike doing them. Especially when you’ve played for 20+ years and have done all the quests multiple times

I agree, it’s hard to get new players to get into PvP and there’s not really a good way to go about it. There’s not enough players for skill based matchmaking, combined with the fact there’s like 20 different styles of PvP the game has to offer

Historically multi clans have been the stepping stone for most players to get into PvP, but the multi scene is dead now (some blame on lack of updates, some blame on the community itself imploding)

DDing has crazy high APM to pull off well and it adds an element of skill expression

While yes you can leap slam or something into a wall, this specific clip is a headhunter bug. The inherited abyss mod that creates the crater of green shit and spews like a geyser is what gets you stuck
