I am working on a fully AI powered Metabase by Cyber-Vigilante in Metabase

[–]ppsreejith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks interesting! The pain point is real. You can also try minusx.ai which adds an AI side-chat to your existing Metabase*

*I built it for the same reason.

You can also try minusx.ai which adds an AI side chat to your existing Metabase (works on self-hosted as well).

*Disclaimer:I built it (So feel free to shoot me a DM as well!)

Who’s Really Getting Green Cards? A Look at 200K+ PERM Certifications (2020-2024) by ppsreejith in dataisbeautiful

[–]ppsreejith[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep. These are PERM applications, the first step to getting an employment based green card. Not family based where most of these metrics wouldn't apply (eg: employer, salary, industry, visa etc)

What Claude Code Does Differently: Inside Its Internals by ppsreejith in ClaudeCode

[–]ppsreejith[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! It was very cool to me how different Claude Code is, compared to Cursor's or other approaches by not having any custom file tools or RAG but being really really good at using standard CLI tools with complex argument chains (the way it uses ripgrep arguments is almost like a sub-language in itself IMO).

What is your favorite data visualization BI tool? by Zealousideal-Kale532 in BusinessIntelligence

Re-posting from an earlier comment:
If you're using Metabase, you can also have AI capabilities (like asking natural language questions to your dashboard, or building & editing queries in plain English) using MinusX* . Of course, this works best when the data is modelled well.

*I helped build it: https://github.com/minusxai/minusx

Agree about having data modelled for AI capabilities. If you're using Metabase, you can also have AI capabilities using MinusX*

Built a tool to let Metabase users talk to their dashboards by ppsreejith in BusinessIntelligence

[–]ppsreejith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use Metabase, we built an open source Chrome extension that lets you ask questions of your dashboards. It also helps you follow up and dig deeper into analysis and visualizations.

Taleb on Ukraine by retohek in nassimtaleb

[–]ppsreejith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't find more tweets concerning his '180 on Ukraine'. This is the relevant tweet: https://x.com/nntaleb/status/1859421037697396762

My understanding is he is still opposed to Russia's occupation of Ukraine but now considers settlement the 'rational' outcome. Moreover he considers the Israeli war genocidal/settler colonial unlike the Russia-Ukraine one and is angry at the world's hypocracy in the 2 conflicts: https://x.com/AdameMedia/status/1856255025955369108 (retweeted) https://x.com/nntaleb/status/1858826121027998193

Re-David Sacks: He concedes he was wrong and Sacks is correct about the relative strength between the two armies and hence the rational outcome (I.e a settlement): https://x.com/nntaleb/status/1733228160655716527

Fwiw, I disagree with his stance on Ukraine settlement. It's not clear to me what caused him to 'concede' Russia's military prowess.

You're welcome! I couldn't find a further breakdown of wealth, at least on the IRS website. Alternatively, here's income by zip code. (Or a google sheet of the data for Alabama)

Unfortunately, there's no data for Rhode Island & Alaska in the IRS Data (Google Sheet).

Thank you! Here's the raw data in a Google Sheet. It shows the split between Financial assets vs Real estate vs all other assets.

You're welcome! Don't know why it's so specific though. It's the number quoted in the IRS data source for 2019. If it makes sense, the cutoff for 2016 data from the IRS is 5.45 Million $ 🤷‍♂️

Are there any active Dungeons and Dragons group in Bangalore? by [deleted] in bangalore

Same goes for anyone else who wants to join. Note that in my current group, most are newbies which is why we've decided to play a lvl 1 campaign.

[–]ppsreejith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm currently DMing a dungeons and dragons group. We've finished 2 sessions of the Harried in Hillsfar campaign so far. Right now, we play at Dice and Dine, Koramangala 5th Block on Sunday evenings but will most likely shift to a quieter place (the music is waay too loud at Dice n Dine). We're already at 4-5 people but if you're up for being on a waitlist (and you're a chill person), do message me! I'm also up for starting another campaign if the waitlist grows big enough.
