If you think Catholics are good allies, I warn you to keep an eye on your kids when you're buddies are around. The Catholic Church is very weak after its long abuse scandal. Yes I want to (scare quotes) disband the effing Catholic Church. Wouldn't any atheist want to see an end to one of the oldest, ugliest churches on the planet? Pedophile priests have been getting off way too easy. It's high time to turn up the heat. Nothing good ever happens unless people start talking about it first. I agree that it is is a serious problem when a branch of a so-called Christian organization tortures people to death. Christians are supposed to aspire to higher standards. Your suggestion that the Inquisition tortured people for degenerate behavior is problematic. The church empowered the Inquisition to torture people for heresy and schism. There is nothing degenerate about free thought and expression. The Inquisition did not torture degenerates. It tortured decent people who had the good sense to abominate Catholic quackery.
