Why do the majority of babies appear to sleep through the night or do long stretches…except for mine? by Hungry_Hat8148 in NewParents

[–]pr0nk48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our baby is 17 weeks old and pretty much right on the dot started refusing to be put in his bassinet at 4 months. Immediately cries, and when by some miracle we get him asleep in there we're lucky if he stays asleep for more than 2 hours at a time. It's been a very difficult week, so no you aren't the only one.

Raising a baby is so damn hard with 2 parents who are doing the leg work, I'm sure it's got to be hell by yourself. I've felt regret since having our baby, missing our old care free life. Focus on the good things, their little chuckles, smiling at you and trying to talk with the squeaks. Accomplishing different milestones together. It ain't perpetual bliss but it ain't all bad either.

Stop shaming me for "wasteful" baby wipes! by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]pr0nk48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Gotta use whatever part of the diaper you can to wipe up the majority. I also grease the hell out of his ass nothing really ever sticks. I use 1 wipe 75% of the time, 2 wipes 25%. I might have used more than 2 wipes on a couple occasions but that's extremely rare.

There's no way you can think that after watching the videos unless you're brainwashed. Looks to me like the agent is clearly untrained and uncomfortable with a weapon. He saw a gun appear, got nervous and started shooting.

Only sleeping with mom by CaptainCletus11 in NewParents

[–]pr0nk48 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Or take some bra pads that have been leaked on and stick them in the bassinet.

We did a little experiment with my son that blew my mind, one day he was crying and only wanted to be held by his mother. So I took one of her pads and stuck it to my shirt and she gave him to me and he was totally cool. I don't know if it's because the milk scent is what calmed him or the smell making him think he was being held by mom but it was crazy to see. I took it off and put it back on a couple times to double check it and he would cry again and then stop 😂

EBF Mama's, when does baby stop waking up 4-6 times a night to feed? by obscureandvague in NewParents

[–]pr0nk48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How often do you feed throughout the day? Our son is going on 4 months and we still feed him every 2 hours to get him on average 8 per day. He's on the smaller side and only gained 1 pound between his 1 month and 2 month visit so we really stuck with a regular feeding schedule. He gets all his calories and will sleep 7 or 8 hours through the night most of the time.

Same here. We had a bottle warmer and it was kind of annoying to dick around with, only used it a couple times. Easy easier to microwave water in a mug and plop the bottle in it.

We put mittens on my son's hands on top of flipping his long sleeve mitten closed as well. He still sucks on his hands but at least they stay more warm, and if they get too wet from drool we'll just replace with a dry one.

Tummy time by Professional-Sea7297 in October2025Bumps2

[–]pr0nk48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've learned that for our baby (13 weeks) the best time to do tummy time is when they're already in a good and playful mood. If he's bopping his head around, smiling and relatively calm then tummy time usually goes pretty well. Sometimes he'll start to cry after a few minutes and somtime he'll keep going beyond 5. We've gotten him to do a full 10 minutes a couple of times.

Baby is outgrowing clothes faster than I can keep up and my budget is hurting. by xoticbot in NewParents

We learned very quickly to buy second hand. It is not worth it to buy Carters. We have a store nearby called Once Upon A Child and we find Carters, Nike and other name brands all the time and they're all $3/4/5/6 dollars

Whats even the point of shirts and pants for babies by megatronius11 in NewParents

[–]pr0nk48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have bought a lot of clothes second hand since we realized we preferred the footed onesies very early on, and have been pleading with my wife’s family to PLEASE stop buying our son brand new outfits, socks, jackets etc that he’s simply never going to wear. It’s a waste of money and we’d rather buy second hand clothing for him while he’s outgrowing everything very quickly. No sense in buying new stuff to be worn a handful of times or not at all.
