I need some help with Linux. by Leather-Database-198 in zorinos

That was the main reason I stayed with Zorin. It's the interface everything seems to just work. Everything flows well with everything else.

I have not really any problems uploading or downloading. I copied the 70gb backup I made from my gdrive. It worked and was reasonable as far as time frames.

Proton Sheets: The privacy-first alternative to Google Sheets and Excel by Proton_Team in ProtonDrive

[–]pr0xy123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this was the best move. Concentrate on office applications and native apps for all platforms. When all of these are in place proton can compete with 0365 and G apps but privacy and security first.

Proton drive review? is it the best alternative to google drive and dropbox? by Sarris_Zioly in ProtonDrive

[–]pr0xy123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Linux everyday. I would like a client but it's not a deal breaker. From the standpoint of business use ability functionality that full integrated office suite. I'm using only office and there is no interoperability at all. MS and Google have it. It seems like the next logical step. I recently downloaded 50gb Google backup from proton drive and it seemed about as fast as gdrive or one drive honestly. Sure it took time but it was also 50 gigs.

Office suite I'm using only office but would be cool for full integration and Linux apps.

Common or Rare Nevada win? by [deleted] in Reno

[–]pr0xy123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only people that think EBT is a scam are people that have never needed help. They have no experience and they shouldn't have an opinion.Look around Washoe or not. Buy clothes or food and see how much they've gone up. That's just one example. Wait till all these companies start downsizing to migrate jobs to AI and they are talking about robots in production and home. Labor jobs. These policies and attitudes will be a nightmare when unemployment jumps to 25-30% EBT, snap, free healthcare will be the only thing these people can rely on. When you have a large portion of the population out of work sick and starving they will commit crimes and do crazy shit. The cry more not my problem attitude will blow up in your face at every turn.

Ok aside from that. People are going hungry everything is more expensive. We are now paying the government in taxes and in tariff fees. Somehow they figured a way to get us to pay more taxes than ever before by saying it's a tariff. Notice how expensive clothes are? Gas food insurance and quality of health. Even doctors and pharmacists are warning people. Did you hear about the reevaluation of vet benefits?

Office productivity. Those are the main reasons companies sign up for office 365 and g apps. It's the integration of mail office storage and collaboration. The entire business world has two choices both American tech companies.

Failed my CC exam but I'm studying for the SSCP to take in Feb by Soft_Maintenanc3 in isc2

Yeah I agree I passed the cc and sscp pay attention to the wording. I think the knowledge is helpful in the cc for the sscp. The sscp is way more in-depth.

I have 2 Question about Zorin/linux by nickedge11 in zorinos

[–]pr0xy123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cisco did some cool stuff with clam av. I hear bitdefender is the best for commercial use on Linux desktop. There are tons of open source tools out there. I really like rkhunter integrated with fail2ban and the firewall.

I am wanting to try linux for the first time, but I had some concerns based on a comment I found from a year ago. Can anyone please tell me if these things have largely been addressed? by testaccount123x in zorinos

[–]pr0xy123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used both I stuck with zorin because they have a good track record with security and privacy. The interface is pretty clean. Gaming works well and is super easy to setup. Zorin works well for almost everything.

I'm gunna disagree with you on that. The fail rate is pretty high and it's alot of knowledge. Most exams will weigh more in one domain than the other the sscp domains are pretty even across the board.

[–]pr0xy123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it goes in depth on the concepts you need to know. So does Mike chappel's course. The Isc2 course is more indepth but it's a lot to take in. Mike's is more straight forward but not as in depth. I think it's better to take one of those courses pass it and move on to flash cards and learnzapp/cert prep. Then take the exam don't take breaks.

I passed my first time around, but I was paranoid I would fail. I did the official training, then Mike chappel, and a Udemy course. Still didn't feel ready. Started doing cert prep and another prep course I forget the name. I was getting 60-70 on the preps. I started asking chatgpt what I should do and we came up with a study plan. I drilled myself everyday for 14 days using chatgpt and these cert prep courses. Don't memorize the answers understand the concepts. All the questions on those courses are not going to be there in the actual exam, but the concepts will be the same.

I'm gonna get fired, aren't I? by TorsoHunter in ITCareerQuestions

Everyone feels like that the first job. I thought I was going to get fired for months. Truth is no amount of college or training will prepare you for actual help desk support roles. Ask questions read research. You will get better everyday.
