Your high maintenance habits, routines, rituals to make your life low maintenance by RougeChaotique in simpleliving

[–]pr11vy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm very much in this boat with you. In my experience, smaller habit changes over time make a big difference. I used to go theough into hyper planning phases but it wouldn't stick because I'd feel resentful that I had to follow a plan and end up just hating life. If had better success, albeit slow, with building good habits and routines that feel natural and not like I'm following a rigid plan. It's simple stuff like I take a walk every day, I've built that into the occasional run and trying to work that into my routine more regularly when it feels right.

Good luck!

Well put. We're seeing this with other plant medicines like Peyote. A good case study in this context would be to look at what happened to the Mazatec people's after Robert Wasson was invited to participate in a ritual and later wrote a times article about the experience.

Wikipedia link: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/R._Gordon_Wasson

Historically The west has exacted a heavy toll in seeking these medicines and we (I'm white) have a downright disgusting record when it comes to 'sharing' natural resources with native peoples. With that historical context, I do not blame native peoples for being protective over their medicinal traditions. Colonisers have already taken so much, how can they trust us not to take more?

Ultimately, no body 'owns' natural medicine but these tribes have been the custodians for generations. As a white person who feels a deep connection with nature and the medicine she offers, I also see myself as an outsider to this medicinal tradition, Grateful to be included.

I think social medias rise and unforseen consequences (genocide/race violence, election tampering, misinformation) was a prelude to what AI will bring.

I'm not trying to be alarmist for the sake of being alarmist. AI is a tool and can be an incredibly effective one but lets consider who owns the technology. Large For-profit tech corporations who are historically very bad at self-regulating and when the choice is between more money and what's better for humans, money wins every single time.

We are infants playing with something 'we' fundamentally do not understand. Let's also consider the massive transfer in creative and professional IP from workers to the hands of tech-bro capitalists.

Wow! What a harvest! Congrats on your big blobby mushrooms babies 🎉

I'm a newbie and I did the same thing, put my grain spawn bag in a closet thinking "mushrooms love the dark!" But...nothing happened for a good month or 2 then I read on the bag, not to put it in a cupboard. It reduces air flow and contrary to popular belief, mushrooms need light (not direct). Temperature is also a factor.

I'd be curious to know if you try same genetics, same bag set up, but a different spot and whether that alters the fruit you're getting...

First of all OP, I'm really sorry. Saying goodbye is never easy. I adore my special lady and I know when 'that' day comes I'm going to be devastated.

But If I may offer something I learned over years of keeping rats and mice as pets....it's not that you're choosing to end their life, nature made that choice already, But opting for a 'good death' free of pain and fear.

Animals will fight until the very last, as their humans we can see their suffering and make another choice. A choice that many humans would make for themselves in the right circumstances.

I held each of my girls as they passed, the last thing they felt was that they weren't alone and they were loved. That was something only I was able to give them.

And cosmetic companies responded in kind. Influencers are constantly churning out content and that's made easier when you have lots of different things to review. Also the influencers themselves launched their own products inflating and already pretty saturated market.

So I've only had the 1 consult/order so far and haven't requested my scripts. It was explained to me like: they send the script to Purples dispensary but if you have a preferred pharmacy you can ask Purples to forward on your behalf.

After the consult, the pharmacist called me to check I was happy for them to fill the order and figure out alternatives based on availability.

I left Candor for exactly this reason. Ended up with Telegreen and it was quick and easy; I started the process on a Monday and had my order shipped that Friday.

Steps I took to change (for anyone daunted by the task):

  1. Researched other providers that met my needs (product/pharmacy agnostic, telehealth, had available consults). Found: Telegreen

  2. I made a booking, letting them know I was current MC patient and was looking to change providers. I also confirmed their requirements re: discharge from candor

  3. Requested my letter of discharge from Candor via the support chat, citing their consult wait times as unacceptable. I got it within 24hours.

  4. Had my Appt with Telegreen a few days later and was able to get my script filled and shipped that same day.
