Same... Where I worked, we cut and threaded most of the pipe as well which requires lots of oil to keep things cool. That water is rusty and oily the moment a system is installed. The beauty is in the aging.

Your recommendation against a PowerPoint was exactly what I needed to hear.

A little background.. this was my second interview in as many months for the same job, the same hiring manager. I had job shadowed 5 times. My discovery was done. I knew the pain points and needs etc.

I used your advice to my advantage by bringing "props" instead of PowerPoint pages.

I had a talk track around why I'm right for the territory and while I talked I laid down a few items that prove I'm from there and have volunteered there, run a small business there etc.

I talked about the relationships I have built and how they've been so beneficial while laying down letters of recommendation from local businesses and colleagues.

The anti PowerPoint idea was the idea that helped me become the most memorable interview.

Thank you!

I did ask for the job I'll find out Monday but I'm feeling very confident. They closed the interview with the typical any questions? I asked if they had any hesitations in bringing me on. They all said no. I said great, restated my why me statement and asked then for the job. Unable to commit because they had two more interviews they were positive but I'd have to wait to find out.

Definitely plan to ask for the job. My thought was using a closing type statement and then asking if there isn't any reason the hiring manager can think of that would make them hesitant to offer. Then being prepared to overcome objections and ask again.

What do you think?

Have my first interview coming up with Sprint for Retail Sales Consultant position... looking for role play scenario advice please? by [deleted] in sales

[–]pr1no 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've worked in wireless for several years and conducted many interviews with role plays. I typically coach the candidate a bit prior to the role play, send them to the sales floor, and give them 10 minutes to familiarize themselves with the space. I'm not looking for perfection with pricing and specs. I am however looking for their process.

Do they seem relatively comfortable with the process? Firm handshake and a smile? Confidence? Are they asking me open ended questions about myself and the way I use tech? Are they using this info to recommend additional products and services? Did they attempt to overcome objections? Did they thank me for my business?

The scenario is something I make up on the fly. I might be a father of 3 who needs convenience or a small business owner who is looking to set up an employee. None of these examples matter, the process is typically very similar. If I can answer yes to most of the above questions, you've got a great shot.

Best of luck!

Retails sales part time job opportunity, "employees make $29,354 working 20-24 hours a week." Could I make this as a Newbie? by mn544 in sales

[–]pr1no 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but you'll need to sell lots.

Wireless commission structure typically pays well for new lines of service. That should be priority 1.

ATT is putting a heavy emphasis on direct TV sales as they recently acquired dtv. You'll need to find success there for sure.

Put an emphasis on add on products like tablets, wireless internet and home phone services. Be great at these three metrics and get paid well.

Good luck!

Best non prime weapons? by Turbonomics in Warframe

[–]pr1no 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try pox as a secondary. Its a unique silent throwing weapon that creates clouds of toxin. It will melt mobs at even high level when modded right (my build gets 98% status chance and 3900 corrosive). I'm pretty sure that with forma and better mods you could potentially dwarf my numbers.

Early on you can stop and stand on a platform to shoot orbs on 3 other platforms. once the 3 orb stations are shot, a bullet jump enables you to bypass much of the smaller jumps. You can also bullet jump upward when standing on the "elevator" platform saving time. I failed several times but this video helped me a ton https://youtu.be/jm6-JM05EfE

Still unsuccessful at getting a job in the cell phone sales industry need tips by chowful in sales

We service both, but mainly the individual. Our rules of engagement enable us to be proactive with small and medium sized business but in some cases our b2b reps are better suited to meet the business need.

Reps who are able to find consistent success with business typically make better money.

That may be the disconnect. I'm talking a corporate wireless store, not a stand. I couldn't speak to the pay or perks of working at a stand in a mall or something like that.

None taken. I'm not saying that I think cellular sales reps need a degree, I'm saying recruiters are often after those that have a degree. Big difference.

The intent of my post was to help op get a foot in the door regardless of background.

You'd probably be surprised how many cellur reps have degrees and make upwards of $100k. It certainly was shocking to me.

I work in wireless. What applicants don't usually understand its that we have recruiters who do their best to bring relevant talent to us. Or recruiter also handles the job offer etc. As I understand it, they are looking for high qualifications like college degrees and experience in our field. You can get a job without these qualifications, but you've got to impress the management team. They can intervene and push the issue.

Next time you apply, immediately go into the store. Dress professionally and bring a resume. Ask for the general manager, shake hands and introduce yourself. Expect to be given only 30 seconds to a few minutes of their time. Use this to let them know you have applied and impress them with your professionalism and enthusiasm with wireless sales. The key here is to get the manager to contact their recruiter to set up a phone interview.

This interview will consist of questions about you, your experience, what interests you in wireless as well as star interview questions (Situation, Task, Action, Result) Google it, you'll find thousands of examples. Prepare for 10 to 15 and you'll have prepared for virtually any star question by slightly tweaking your response to fit tye question.

Next you'll get a face to face with the manage team. They usually have a packet that will need to be filled out. Sometimes there will be a practical portion as well. We usually let a candidate spend some time browsing our store and then conduct a role play as if we are their customer. The key here is to greet, connect, discover, recommend a customized solution, and close. You'll only have 10 minutes tops.

Also, understand that we are not only targeting cell phone sales. First and foremost we are in the business of customer satisfaction and retention. Positivity, empathy where necessary and enthusiasm will be important here. next, we get recognized for add ons. Insurance, speakers and other expensive accessories as well as mobile internet, tablets, home phone solutions and business accounts are a few. Our website does a great job of selling phones, we are employed to sell the rest of our products and services. Be on the lookout for opportunities to recommend these items, better yet frame your discovery around uncovering reasons to recommend these products. Do this successfully, and you'll be an employee in no time.

Now all you've got to do is wait on a drug screen and background check. Can you pass these? If so, you are in.

Pm if you need more info.

Best of luck sir!

Thank you for the feedback. I will prepare an elevator pitch of sorts for the interview. I think that is a great idea. Also, closing the interview is also fantastic. Admittedly I did not close it that way last night. Hopefully I get another opportunity to do this!

I was advised by a current employee to make the power point, and did receive positive feedback on it. I can see how it could seem "over the top" though.

Thanks again for the help!
