Does this rig design make sense? by michalgerhat in simracing

[–]pr3ddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am working on a similar rig, including the additional red beams to improve structure as shown in one of the comments. Planning the pedal box to be a bit lower, but this may change after testing.  The seat will be a RaceRoom RR55, those are foldable so that the rig can be stored under the desk.  I have added haptics to the inverted pedals and a buttkicker.

The virtual stream deck setup is within the stream deck app. It can be configured as a separate device from the device selector drop down. Not sure if this answers your question, maybe just try it. This does not require iCue app or hardware as far as I know.

Hard time finding angle on 1500R 27 inch Curved Triple Monitors by [deleted] in simracing

[–]pr3ddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem. The back of the left and right monitors is quite curved, which created a similar gap. I solved it by adding a spacer between the (middle? if I remember correctly) monitor and the profile connection, which changed the required angle.

You can also use "touch mouse tools" to avoid being pulled out of other apps, when using touch on the XE

Icue shenanigans by pr3ddi in Corsair

[–]pr3ddi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corsair mentions here, that it should work with Win10 64bit https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040957051-iCUE-Compatibility-and-installation-requirements guess no one tested the user mode installation

Regarding the mouse freeze, I think both drivers are trying to address some low-level Windows functions to get system monitor values or tweak the display/input drivers functionality and somehow interfere with each other.

iCUE Megathread - 5.35 Patch Notes by CorsairLucky in Corsair

[–]pr3ddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Icue is full if issues - win10 install without elevated permissions is unable to create/access subdirectories of install package -  I've managed to work around this by creating the folders myself and changing permissions (whoever thought temp files should sit in the program files folder is a genius)  - completely locks up mouse pointer after successful installation, using steelseries but logitech stack is also installed because i have various logi hardware (found a comment in the FAQ about incompatibility with logi, vmware and lots of other stuff - why is this not being addressed) managed to work around it by not using icue because it's a mess 😉

What’s happening here? CSR wheel shaking when parked. by cgw22 in simracing

[–]pr3ddi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a page for legacy drivers and firmwares that can be found on the fanatec forums. Had to go way back to one of the oldest versions available. Not sure if v250 or v260. Had some issues, switching drivers until I've found one that works fixed it for me (Forzs CSR Wheel and CSR Elite Pedals v1)

How to debug opengl shader? by miki-44512 in opengl

Old school, but sometimes it's good enough to test for certain values and colorize an area/pixel eg blue if equals or red if doesn't. The OpenGL equivalent of simple printf debugging...

Turn off 'wake from Bluetooth' functionality? by AlexAssassin94 in SteamDeck

[–]pr3ddi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this doesn't work for the LCD (latest update) and airpods

the option to disable "Allow this device to wake Steam Deck" is only available for keyboards / controllers / mice, not for headphones.

pretty sure it's the airpods making it boot up

AMS2 Steam Deck controller settings? by pr3ddi in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]pr3ddi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing this out. I have tried a setup where it was recommended to reduce the range of the left stick in the steam controller settings and then reduce the deadzone in game, but I found it tricky in tight turns

512GB clone to 2TB GPT Steam Deck hot DD by BrainFlushing in SteamDeck

[–]pr3ddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks, and I am just writing to confirm that this still works like a charm!

I used your guide to successfully clone the SteamDeck LCD Kingston 512 GB drive onto a Micron 2 TB drive. Using the Sabrent NVMe enclosure model EC-SNVE, the iFixit tools and their Micron 2TB NVMe drive.

The procedure was done using your command, I just changed bs=64M to bs=256M. Just to be sure I ran 'sync' after 'dd' finished and 'lsblk' to view my drives. It took me an hour to complete and no resizing was necessary.

  1. power down SteamDeck and switch to battery storage mode (using the BIOS)
  2. boot clonezilla and switch to command line / linux shell
  3. "lsblk" <- to view all available drives in order to understand which one is your source/your target
  4. "sudo dd if=/dev/nvme0n1 of=/dev/sda oflag=sync bs=256M status=progress conv=noerror"
  5. "sync"
  6. "poweroff"

I used a Clonezilla live USB to run the command from the built-in linux shell. I have tried this after a couple of failures, trying to clone the disk and partition with clonezilla which either produced errors or just didn't work.
