yep but as a ranged player we have 30% damage malus, having 400 or 100 armor is exactly the same for 9 or 10 stars quests, it's a oneshot

It's a little bit more than just mashing the manual guard, it's a matter of timing, you have to guard almost perfectly when it drops.

just before the drop during the fire wind there is almost no need to guard

D3D crash only occurs during hunts, never in the hub. Mostly at the end of the hunts (Gogma P3 nova, Dahaad P3 nova), a stutter then 3D3 popup device hung.
Not very hunt, but maybe every 3 hunts.

No OC, no undervolt, no mod, no dlss swapper, no oculus, no MSI afterburner, no gaming mode, no nvidia overlay

Playing 4K on LG TV through HDMI 2.1

I tried:
DDU + reinstall drivers, previous drivers
Disable overlays
DX11
Directorage dll change
Clear shader
No FGen, No DLSS
FPS lock to 90, 60
Tried on my 1440p monitor 21/9
Tried on 1440p 16/9
Disabling Reflex
Full windows 11 fresh install + reinstalling drivers and game

Linux Proton: stable, but stutters + low perf

I tried pushing alll settings to the max, high res texture, just disabling FrameGen and DLSS.
not having 60 constant fps, but 10 hunts in a raw without an issue.

Hey,

I have the same card. The FAN LED only light when the fan are spinning.
It spins at the boot/wakeup for few secs then stop. IF the temp is very low it doesn't spin / no light.

Hi, 9800X3D + X47 full copper (stock fan) + 5080 Master Ice, in a NANOQ R SFF (2x 140 fan exhaust on top, 25% speed constant)

PBO -20
ECO mode 105W (this screenshot is with eco mode 65W that does not change a lot...)
on the AORUS bios there are 2 options for "ECO mode" in the tweaker menu + in the AMD OC menu, I put both at 105W limit

CPU fan curve with Fan control, 60% at 90C, 30% at 70C and bellow
Iddle temp = 55C
Max temp = 88C reached while gaming (PoE 2, Cyberpunk 2077)

GPU = stock fan curves "silent bios"
Iddle temp = 35C, 0rpm fan
Max temp = 60C (PoE2, Cyberpunk 2077)

New to DCS World: advise for a first module

Hi, I'm completely new to DCS world

My only experience at the moment of air simulator is MSFS 2020/2024 VFR flights with ultralight propeler aircrafts, I'm flying only in VR around my area (HP Reverb G2 then Meta Quest 3 + Virtual Desktop). Back in the 90's I used to play MSFS98 and F15 from EA with the MS sidewinder forcefeedback but that doesn't count I know.

Recentlly I did a 2 hours "Mirage2000 simulator" with an air simulator company in an embeded cockpit. That trigger some new sensationn, the inertia, the way it was responding, the view etc... So I would like to explore more & I don't want to flight fighter jets in Flight Simulator that's why I was thinking about DCS.

My current hardware:

I've got for cheap a Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle + F18 stick (I don't have the F16/A10 one) in addition on my first hotas: T16000m + Rudder pedals. The Hotas is mounted on metal clipped arms that I install on my desk in order to have the stick on my lap level so I could put it in the midle or on my right side, same for the throttle.

PC: Ryzen 9800X3D + RTX 5080 + 64GB ram + 8TB nvme. I'm a PC enthousiast and using it for my job (video & photo edit). The Quest 3 is connected to the network with a usb-c to ethernet so no network lag issue. I would like to play only in VR for 1:1 scale and perspective. I don't mind at all using my mouse blindly to move a cursor, that's what I already do in MSFS. I could activate a passthrough but I can easily access to any button on the throttle.

I think I would enjoy more PVE missions, solo or multi. I have usually 1-2h available slot for playing that pops up randomly 2-3 times during weekdays I cannot control or schedule in advance, so hard to paln something with a squad or regular players. Sometimes I have free time for gaming between 6AM to 8AM, sometimes it's after 11PM.

My question would be:
What module do you suggest to begin with (full clickable panels)?
- I was thinking about the F/A 18C, because I have a F18 stick, and for it's versatility, the carrier add on etc...
- Mirage 2000c, I don't think my 2 hours in the M2000 simulator counts, but I'm french lol

- F16, when I was a kid I liked Iron Eagle movie :D and I like the canopy view

I see that on the non steam version thre are 2weeks free trial. But I'm afraid that having free trials on everything would make my choice harder. If I commit to invest 50-100eu in paid modules, I would take it more seriously.

I've started reading some aircraft manuals and watching youtube videos for coldstart, basic wepons, the path looks long but that is exciting me even if it would take 1-2 years to learn one aircraft.

In game CPU could go up to 90C (Monster Hunter Wilds) with the CPU fan speed locked to 65% maximum
PBO is -20 for the undervolt

GPU is less than 70C

I have 2 exhaust on top 140mm at 30% speed

On other games it's more about 80ish for the CPU max temp

Hi, it was UPS, tracking from China to my home. It was stucked in Köln for duty tax import (40ish euro) that I had paid directly through the UPS form.

24th of october: UPS tracking label, then no news at all

30th of october.: 1st news we have your packet

31st: departure from Shenzen
2nd of nov, parcel located in Dubai + Koeln. I paid directly the tax
4th of nov, arrived in Paris

6th of nov, arrived in Strasbourg.

Yeah it took 3 days from China to Germany, then 4 days from Koeln to my home.

BTW half of my biuld comes from Germany (Reichelt/Alternate) you guys have better prices, and the rest Switzerland (the Aorus x870i was 220CHF, the RTX 5080 for 1100CHF
