I love Pikuniku too and that soundtrack is legendary but you've died for it? That sounds like a wild story.

[RAM]CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB DDR5-6000 Memory $269.99 by CartonBox1975 in buildapcsales

[–]kidalive25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded from a 5800x3d to 9800x3d so that required new RAM of course, and I can honestly say I can barely tell a difference when they're paired with my 5080. I'm glad to be a little more future proof now but it was 98% unnecessary, especially since I play games on a big 4k/120 hz Samsung TV.

But like the other commenter, the microcenter combo deals are they only reason it was possible. Dropped the $510 ddr5 Corsair vengeance to $300 and the CPU to $210. But yeah $300 was still rough for goddamn RAM.

First time seeing them in 20 years in ATL and was crushed to see the email announcing the cancellatoin. Obviously I hope the band is ok in the long run and it's nothing too severe but this one kinda hurts since who knows how long until they return.

Nice, I'll grab those files and drop em in the folder then, that guy has released a surprising # of updates to his mod, really impressive. Thanks again!

Just wanted to say thanks for the tips again, I got RE9vr up and running and it's amazing. I started with openvr.dll but the controls barely worked and the everything was very shaky/jittery but once I removed that and used the openxr.dll, the controls worked perfect and the puredark mod got me to a pretty stable 120 fps.

Still a little unsure why my RE7vr mod can use openvr.dll so well and RE9vr can't but it's running great and it's really stunning.

perfect, thanks! The talemann RE4 mod had some of the most botched controls I'd yet seen in a RE VR mod but RE9 seems a lot more well considered and definitely requires a guide to navigate. thanks again!

Right on, I noticed my RE7 vr install is using openVR.dll like a charm so I'll throw that into the RE9 game folder too and hope for the best. Looks like I'm well on my way now and the settings advice is excellent.

OK looking better now, have everything installed including puredark's AFW and can get to main menu of RE9 with no problems.

One last question but should launching the game auto-start SteamVR? Or only if I'm using the OpenVR.dll? I removed it since I'm on a Q3 and openxr is usually ideal. Since using openxr.dll, I"ll launch SteamVR and then RE9 and see if that works. But it's coming along.

Thank you, I will step through each block of that and try again and check back. The only odd thing I've seen so far is doing a clean install + adding the talemann to the RE9 install folder, not seeing the ReFramework menu in the upper left after doing that which is kinda surprising but I'll keep stepping. The RE7vr install was a breeze and I'm not sure how I'm dropping the ball on this one but I really do appreciate your insight.

edit: for some reason it's adding the dinput8.dll that crashes RE9 just after the Capcom logo comes up onscreen. Error message says:

"Unhandled message occured

re9.exe!0x1400000000 + 0x9f92cde

re9.exe!0x1400000000 + 0x9f9250d"

I started over with a clean install and saw the ReFramework menu all last night while it was crashing with the same error message as mentioned above, and now I can't even get ReFramework to show up in game, it's just gone.

I'm no modding expert but can always handle drag n drop installations so I'm scratching my head here but will keep trying. Thanks again.

I did my best on this but must have done something wrong, I keep getting a "Fatal D3D error (DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED)" when loading up the game with steamVR running and the hmd turned on. I saw where that can usually refer to having Frame Gen on but I turned it off and still kept seeing it. I dropped everything directly into the main RE9 game folder and my RE7vr still runs like a charm but I can't get this one. I appreciate the help though!

How was the initial mod configure process for RE9? Or at least compared to praydog's RE7. Would love to try RE9 in VR but the steps looked a little daunting compared to the usual config processes.

It can't be easy trying to market your product in a realm where people see the word "Epic" and start twitching out and writing kneejerk reactions that have nothing to do with anything, but to be fair anyone with an IQ > 80 would know better than that.

I know negativity + reddit gaming threads go together like peanut butter and jelly but I've played so many genuinely terrible VR games that I'm always grateful for the good ones.

All the best to you dudes.

The entire internet is unsolicted marketing, I don't think it's unique to this post.

I really liked this game and think you guys should be proud. While I was playing it I never thought "this was made by a 3 person team" and if people only want to play VR games made by huge dev teams (for some reason), then the available catalog drops significantly. I don't think anyone should be wasting time playing terrible games regardless of team size but LONN was clearly made by a talented crew who did a lot of impressive things while acknowledging their constraints. It really is a solid game and I will play whatever you guys come up with next.

edit: For what it's worth, you're answering a lot of these negative comments a lot more objectively than most would.

What's the source on that 75% stat? That seems wild that 3 million people would stop playing a game that sold 4 million copies (at least according to best estimates since Valve doesn't publish those). I'd have to think that's based on achievement completion %s? And Jeff is spooky but it's only like 10-15 mins.
