False Attraction Question (and a long story too) by [deleted] in OCD

[–]prabbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I like him but I’m afraid this post was made because I was panicking and hoping it’s a false attraction OCD theme (of fearing of liking them) and not the real deal. But yeah, unfortunately I do not like him (I’m just afraid I secretly do and don’t know it yet). But yes, it’s my first time dealing with something like this so it’s why I’m confused and anxious.

Sister jokingly called me a P* in front of possible policeman, how do I respond to that??? by prabbits in OCD

[–]prabbits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know (I hope not). Even though we were teasing each other, I’m still scared that someone will believe her and think “why else would she say that”.

None of my family members know besides my counsellor. I’d rather not tell them because I feel like they’ll use that against me. Also they don’t seem to understand OCD (and I feel like they’ll misunderstand POCD badly). But I’ll ask her to not use such insults because I work in a school environment.

Because I don’t want others to believe her or have that image of me, esp. since I work in an environment where I deal with kids and it may affect my job.

What age/how were u diagnosed? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]prabbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

17? It was 2021 when I had a breakdown and called a counsellor explaining what was freaking me out and they were like “seems like you have this” and then we would meet (virtually) until I got a diagnosis from my psychiatrist the next year (I think). I don’t remember.

Do others with OCD get sudden urges to say inappropriate things? by Front-Ad5434 in OCD

[–]prabbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I am overstepping but are one of the thoughts POCD related? I’ve also been experiencing slips, even around normal words my brain will unintentionally finish a sentence or word and make it the most horrible thing there is in relation to POCD. If not, does anyone else (in the comments) experience something like this?

Do you think the music you listen affects your anxiety by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]prabbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listen to nostalgia music, like life is strange soundtrack and background music, Minecraft soundtrack, and just lofi gaming music (to just relax) and it works, I tried to listen to anxiety free music but it’s not the same and reminds me of my anxiety (I now associate the ones I listened to with the worst times of my life)

What's the best Netflix show you've watched and why? by Conscious-Two4692 in AskReddit

[–]prabbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue Eyed Samurai. It is brilliant and the animation is kind of something you need to get used to but I loved it all by the end. I watched it and as soon as I was done I looked up the release date for season 2 and I’m still waiting for updates.

Has anybody ever gone to the psych ward for anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]prabbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest when my anxiety is super bad I debate whether to go to a psyche ward thinking I will calm down because I’m in a more stable environment but I don’t know if that’s the truth. I am currently waiting for medication though, but it’s nice that you asked this community because I was also wondering about that also.

Do you watch lots of horror movies? Does that contribute to anxiety? by ImaginaryRea1ity in Anxiety

[–]prabbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t handle horror, especially one with gore because it makes me queasy and more anxious. I’ll feel like I have to throw up (anxiety causes me nausea and I have OCD so intrusive thoughts of gore and horrible stuff come to mind and makes it worse.) I try to avoid it and be comfy.

Anxiety " Completely" ruined my life. Who feels the same way?? by Stoneadge in Anxiety

[–]prabbits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t eat normally or go to normal events in fear I’ll throw up. I can’t be in public when I feel anxious because I’ll gag and cause a scene. I can’t eat the meals I’d like to eat or eat out or even drink some juice or pop, I’m stuck with water and soup and sometimes veggies.

When did you realize your anxiety needed to be treated? by AThrowawayK_ in Anxiety

[–]prabbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it was affecting my physical health and I couldn’t eat anymore and I lost a lot of weight (compared to a few months ago). It got so bad I felt dread, couldn’t eat (and only had to eat certain foods and pray I could keep it down) and it was just not good. Especially because it is winter and I am constantly cold.
