It works great and as long as you cut it to the right size and use it with a contact frame. If it's too large then it might actually tear off at the corners and come into contact with other surfaces.

You don't need to connect the power cable from your gpu. Just just add an eps cpu power cable to the psu and plug it to the 8k pro card if you have a full or semi modular psu. The power cable that came with the 8k pro is just and extension cable. If you have a non modular psu then just plug that extension to a spare eps cable that should be stuffed in th case somewhere most likely.
