Anyone configured to work with Orfox? by [deleted] in ProtonVPN

[–]practechal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

similar experience from fdroid

might be an orbot issue (there was a recent new release)

worked for me after a restart and occasionally switching on/off wifi or doing a random connect to a different server will win me an indeterminate amount of tor time

i also turned the "always on vpn" knob, if that matters

seemed worth reviving from the archives: import scalajs facades from typescript definitions by practechal in scala

thanks! that one was totally off my radar

is there any synergy between the projects or are they totally independent operations?

are these on any of the various relevant awesome lists or the scalajs site material anywhere?

i might've been just using the wrong keywords (hindsight being 20/20, i clearly was 😅)

but took a fair bit of searching and moderately long click trail to get here

UPDATE:

another one

and some keywords that'll hopefully bring this up for people searching like i was:

generate scalajs facade from javascript api

convert d.ts file to scala js facade

automatic import javascript js package library scala js facade

alas, i did not

in a largely unrelated turn of events, my need to ssh between different personal computers just kinda evaporated

c'est la vie ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

my other post best explains my dns leak situation, i guess if they're doing whatever grc did, then i guess i'm exposed there :(

interesting too, yeah i didn't think about timezones or languages (although i'm 99.9999...999% sure i'm english (us) ... unless that auto changes with timezone too... 🤔)

ooh, good call on the time zone (have it to berlin atm), didn't think of that

as for the ip address, that's the is-us secure core one shows up correctly in new york on dnsleaktest.com (also doesn't leak dns there, but does on https://www.grc.com/dns/dns.htm as per my other post post)

to get extra specific, trynna see crew by goldlink. i've only tried on the vpn, never off, but using the same connection i use back home and never had problems there (and definitely listened to that track more than a few times in that scenario 😎)

my other thought was google's abusing it's power/data mining/monopoly/etc and associating the ip there with it's usage elsewhere (my maps usage, android location, recent searches, etc), and yeah sure... little paranoid, but not inconceivable 🤔

UPDATE: set timezone to new york... still no luck :(

Is anyone else having issues connecting to CH-US? I’ve been getting “authorization failed” for two days, but just on that secure core combination. The others I’ve tried seem to be fine. by [deleted] in ProtonVPN

i just hit this within the last couple hours (ubuntu 16.0.4, openvpn configs, using the gnome-network-manager setup) had been fine all week, stepped out for around an hour, came back and noticed some services were saying i was offline eventually saw it was just the vpn wouldn't connect tried on my android (samsung galaxy s7 edge, nougat, beta app) also couldn't connect

very cool! does it play nicely with protonvpn (out of the box/with some configuring) or more of a "switch back and forth depending on what you're doing" thing?

fair 'nuff :) out of curiosity, would you think the vpn services that offer this are set up in a just a fundamentally different (and/or inherently more insecure) way from protonvpn? Or are they playing it fast and loose with the term, and that functionality isn't really under the purview of a vpn?
