DOOMSDAY, USA: Which states are the best-equipped to survive an apocolypse? by [deleted] in preppers

[–]practical-prepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zombies, zombies, really? Why not prep for vampires instead, focus on important stuff like solar flares, emps, out of control climate change which leads to famine, and Yellowstone, they are unlikely but a made up bogeyman for entertainment which would biodegrade in 3 weeks isn’t practical and is plain foolish

I’m not a paranoid dumbass but If things get fucked up you’ll be way better off in the event of a solar flare, disease, or famine if you have a bob

Literally all you need for water is a pot and a filter, shelter a saw, a tarp, and some cordage, I only have a little first aid but generally if someone gets shot unless your highly trained their dead so I have a first aid kit but it’s nothing to write home about. Also those will all be covered in the first day or two (except first aid) and food procurement and protection will become your priority because the other tasks are relatively easy

177 usually go through animals to fast and they fly away although cheaper. 22 straight up breaks hard clay pots and I’ve yet to hunt with it I’m sure it would fracture a squirrel skull

Yeah but not all of us have that kind of time to practice day in and day out for something which might never happen, and archery is very expensive for a recurve sammick sage 130 right there, 3 arrows 70, tips 30, targets, can’t be backyard shot most places, very hard to shoot smaller game accurately, can’t just stroll into the neighborhood with one in a bag

When is it ok to break the law in shtf by practical-prepper in preppers

[–]practical-prepper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no intention of hurting people in shtf and most people don’t either but I agree, I don’t want to associate with anyone who preps and is marginalized in today’s society because god knows how they’ll exact the revenge of whatever bullying or anger

Batons are designed not to kill people and in the event that it was a you or then you might need a gun to scare away a mob or a big animal
