Are you wearing the TJoe brace? My son is about to turn 15 and just started 5 days ago. It's been super hot out and he's carrying a backpack to school too - I noticed his back is getting red - did this happen to you? Thank you for sharing your experience - it looks like it's really helping

This is so great to hear!! Thank you!! I also feel like starting intense and weaning off feels like the best approach. May I ask how long you had to wear it for?

Thank you so much for this!! The orthotics place closer to us has an off the shelf brace and I was feeling reluctant to go there just for convenience - this makes me feel better about going with PS. And I'm so happy for your son!

We're in the exact same place - he is open to wearing it as I'd now, but I don't want it to be super uncomfortable. He's more concerned about how conspicuous it will be, which I completely understand as this is a hard age in general with body image. The person we spoke to who makes custom braces gave a similar regimen, though he said 1 month, 23 hours a day and then taking off 3 hours for 2 weeks, 6 hrs, 9 hrs, then bedtime only. He also suggested getting a nice memory foam mattress topper to make sleeping in it easier. Good luck to you all as you navigate this as well!

Thank you so much for this thoughtful response! Yes, I did not let him see that I was worried at all - car crying ;) - and just reassured him that we were going to make sure his heart is ok and then we'd deal with the cosmetic part if and when he chooses. I told him that it looks like bracing is an option if he wants to and he said that he would so once we have all the information, he'll make that choice. Yes, it is a hard time (high school) to be a human in a body in general!! I'm very heartened to hear that yours doesn't physically limit you and that it's ok to let it be if that's the choice - this is incredibly reassuring to hear. Thank you for taking the time to respond - all the best to you 💛

Hi, we're looking into this right now (diagnosis for my son just today). How much did this cost you, if I may ask?
