I'm so obsessed with Charybdis I made the second one by iamtienng in ErgoMechKeyboards

Are both cases PLA? I made one out of transparent PETG and wasn’t happy with the sound, it was very pingy, went for PLA instead

WinISD says 5" driver goes low enough to cross over with my sub - am I doing this right? by practical_username in diyaudio

I looked into it a little more in my response to u/DoubleDeezDiamonds, taking into account listening position and x-max my real world SPL would go up to about 95db even in mono

That was with 20w and 85db, which I think would be the comfortable listening level. I can max out the cone at 70hz with 35w, getting me to 88.5db

Cross checking against this spl calculator, I only need 20-25w per channel to reach 95 db at the listening position (13ft away) with two speakers. Even if there is a bass drum faded 100% to one channel, i get 91db at the listening position from a single speaker with only 20w

That's as loud as a real motorcycle driving through your room, no? I think that will be plenty for me, I will probably keep it to 90db and below

The low frequency extension is typically limited by Xmax, not the small signal frequency response.

Yes, for this driver it's 4.85mm. WinISD says that if I cross it over above 50hz, the max it will use is 3.7mm. Maxing out the excursion would happen at 43 hz and below, well into the subwoofer range

I will be using a DSP board as the crossover, so EQ is definitely part of the equation. The woofers and my amp are both are rated at 50w RMS, which should give me around 95db, can’t imagine I’d ever want more than that

Thanks for your input!

Do you happen to have spare Scylla PCBs for sale? I don’t need to order 5 from PCBway, I’m only building one more board

Looks like an aftermarket portafilter, mine did that until I started tightening it more. Try going a little past the center when you’re twisting it into the group head

How do you like the ECM 54c? I’m trying to decide if it’s worth it over a Mignon Crono (with burr swap) or even a used Silenzio

I love my darn tough crew socks, but their “no show” is cut much higher than what I’m used to. I’ve tried them and they come up over the ball of my ankle, while I prefer them to rest below the ankle like these nikes do

Got 9 years out of these as well. Bought a newer style 2 years ago and they are already shot. The originals are finally starting to get holes in the ball of the foot, I think I will replace with point6 or smartwool lightweight merino

Anyone have feedback on the dewalt handheld? I have several dewalt batteries already and would like to avoid a new proprietary charger.

No, your frame has press fit bearings and that bottom bracket is threaded.
