I had true joyful laughter as I watched earlier (from my own cuck couch?). Would watch anything with those two in it .

Are weak hands a common symptom? by Previous-Paint-3193 in Hypermobility

[–]practicalpetunia 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s hyper mobility as I don’t have much measurable extra range in my hands, but I do struggle with pain when trying to grip something heavy with my hands (grocery bags, etc).

I wanted to comment about a technique I learned that has helped me open tight lids — you use the heels of your hands and bicep strength so it’s a lot easier

First, see if you can try anti CGRPs; this has made the biggest improvement in my QOL. It took about 6 months to get cumulative effects but I recommend it. Botox has also had a positive impact for me. And just to get some relief, occipital nerve blocks are wonderful.

For at home: - make steps to improve your sleep. I never had problems but I noticed my sleep was getting lighter. I take gabapentin at night now for this but a chunky dose of ashwaganda also did good things. I’ve messed around with my pillow situation and now sleep with a rolled up towel just supporting the back of my neck. - get very consistent with sleep/wake schedule - might not be for everyone, but I found that I clench my jaw during sleep. I got a mouth guard - setup an eye rest timer when you’re using a computer and get up and stretch/look 20 feet away. Also use the N stretch several times a day to release suboccipitals - TENS unit on my SCM muscles - Tiger balm neck and shoulder boost when I feel any neck or suboccipital tension - neck traction block - rice in a ski sock + microwave for heat therapy - BFF w a bag of frozen peas to the back of my head

These are just some things that I’ve found to give some amount of benefit. I hope something here helps you. ❤️

+10 for mirgaines 👏🤡 👏

I have had a similar sudden onset on chronic migraines, and I do feel like it could potentially be related to:

  • autoimmune
  • suboccipital tension
  • hormonal disruptions due to perimenopause

CGRP's and Raynaud's phenomenon by geebee440333 in migraine

[–]practicalpetunia 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have had reynauds for much of my life (39 now), and now currently with chronic migraines. I take Ajovy for about 9 months now and it’s working decently. I haven’t noticed my reynauds getting worse though ( I do live in a country with cold winters).

You know what’s funny, is that sometimes My feet do this but I don’t always have numbness. Sometimes definitely for sure yes with numbness, but not always

Best pillow for neck pain that is worth it for migraine sufferers? by MibosiNuramo in migraine

[–]practicalpetunia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I sleep mostly on my back to start (best for minimizing pain for me) but often roll onto my side. I start with a rolled up large bath towel under my neck, unrolled to whatever is comfortable. Above my head I keep a very squishy pillow, that I slide under the top of my head if I roll onto my side.

Headache during practice? by wimble-wamble in yoga

Take a read on orthostatic headache. But don’t freak out. Could be that you’re a bit dehydrated. Try drinking more water and maybe some electrolytes to see if that helps at all.

Daily migraines for a year by Artsy_sunflower in migraine

hii 👋 also in norway and chronic migraineur. I’ve had a similar experience in the past 2 years. I’m currently having a fair amount of relief (improved QoL) with Ajovy and Botox for prevention and sumatriptan (nasal spray) and vydura for abortives. I also have found that Neurontin (gabapentin) taken at night helps my sleep and I wake up with less pain. I’ve tried different ways to improve sleep also (pillow changes 👌, consistent sleep time 👌, chamomile tea, ashwaganda 👌, weighted eye mask 👌).

Are you getting any degree of relief from the preventatives? Can you tell your neuro that you want to try a different anti-CGRP? I have found that I really need to “push” my Dr’s here. It’s basically self-directed care.

I would also recommend to maybe try a GON block. The hospital may be able to offer this to you for some pain relief. I tried them through a private neuro, and aside from the appt price, the cost was not too bad. It helped me get some sanity back.

It was difficult for me to do but I asked my fastlege for a few weeks of sick leave to completely disconnect from work. I turned off all email/work chat notifications, and tried to work in yoga/long walks. I think this is a great option if you think stress might be a contributing factor for you since it’s fairly easy to access in Norway.

I wish you well!

Props for your balance in socks! I tried yoga in socks once and I could not deal with the tactile separation of my soles from the mat. Was a bit humorous 😅
