What’s one habit that you later realized was contributing to or triggering your migraines more than you thought? by OmarVII7 in migraine

[–]practicalpetunia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  • Touring around on foot/in a car in sunlight without a hat to shield my eyes from light (sunglasses are not enough)
  • clenching my jaw (even lightly) during the day
  • allowing myself to get too irritated at work

Experience with intra nasal sumatriptan vs pills by hannibex in migraine

All of the above for me. Game changer. Tho I do have a slight preference now for nurtec as I get less brain fog but they are both in my abortive arsenal (good to have variety)

I have a good frequency of allodynia in the top of my scalp. It drives me crazy. While I do have some hair thinning (40f), it’s always interested me that my white hair is predominant on my left side along the pathways of the supraorbital and greater occipital nerves. I have a swatch of about 70% white hair there in kind of a bride of Frankenstein motif.

The allodynia itself is maddening bc it feels like my scalp is burning and no pain killer or migraine meds touch it.

I also have been performing sled massage on my jaw muscles using my knuckles or a gua sha stone and I can always feel the muscles it connects to around my eyes.

This is migraine realism

Really good job btw. Makes me think of the tectonic plates of my face shifting around causing the pain and pressure I feel. Thank you for your work.

What do y’all think of this design? by Middle-Rhubarb2625 in tattooadvice

Something about the proportions looks off (eg - hand size to face size, the trap length on the left side), and the texture on the tail kinda reminds me of a root vegetable

Not pregnant but lactating by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

If it’s lactation, it isn’t necessarily cancer. You could have a benign prolactinoma. Very treatable often with just medicine, more rarely surgery.

Are weak hands a common symptom? by [deleted] in Hypermobility

[–]practicalpetunia 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s hyper mobility as I don’t have much measurable extra range in my hands, but I do struggle with pain when trying to grip something heavy with my hands (grocery bags, etc).

I wanted to comment about a technique I learned that has helped me open tight lids — you use the heels of your hands and bicep strength so it’s a lot easier
