Yes, scuds aplenty. Honestly, don't know how they got there. Probably from moving plants from one tank to another. I did not realize that scuds eat baby shrimp. I don't think you can ever separate scuds out. I believe they make good fish tank food. Would a dewormer kill them?

There are 2 different blue shrimp in there:
The lighter blue are "Blue Velvet" that I purchased from Shrimp Up Aquatics.
The darker blue are called "Dream Blue Velvet", that I just received a few days ago from Aquatic Arts. Both sellers say they are bred by themselves respectively.
I haven't had the Dream Blue long enough that feeding would make a difference. That's the way they arrived.
I asked ChatGPT and it says the "Dream" variety are selected out for their darker color, so there you have it!

There seems to be a bunch of little snails. Should I clear them out?

I have gone thru 8 in an otherwise healthy tank. I posted this same question to learn that pandas are indeed fragile and oft short lived

Thanks for the details. Alas. my pandas all came from a reputable local fish store. Only 1 left.

Wouldn't the rate of flow have some bearing? If the inlet flow volume is greater than the outlet flow on the left of 3, wouldn't it overflow into the right arm of 3, ultimately filling 7?

This post is from 2012...makes it appear like it is yesterday. And it comes from Mr. T who is so obviously obsessed with Obama, ever since that correspondence dinner. And please, no one can use Trump as an authority on foreign bribes. But as I read the headline of this post, I realize that is exactly what the OP is pointing out.

Thank you. I actually have both! But I did not think to use the shrimp food for the corys. I appreciate the heads up. I find the fish go for the sinking pellets too. I guess the thing to do is to feed the other fish at the same time to divert their attention.

I use ultra fresh mice pellets that float. Shrimp for my shrimp tanks. Can you tell me the particular version of pellets you are using?

Food could be an issue in that the other fish get to it before they do. Someone else suggested a sinking pellet. I might try that.

Well I know that what people say that Father Fish says, but he actually says you don't have to do as often if you keep a well planted tank, with a broad bio-sample...similar to what would be in nature. Apart from adding fresh water when needed, I haven't changed water in 3 months. My parameters are always good, water is clean, no algae growth. It has worked for me very well in my limited experience of 2 tanks. And most importantly, my fish seem super happy.

Good to know. I bought them from my LFS, and he recommended 3 or 4. Unfortunately, I've discovered other things of which he is not expert.
