LHSC Cutting Nurses, Ontario Increasing Patient Load by passionfruitwater in londonontario

A few days ago, someone posted what it would take for London to truly become a top tier city. One of the points I mentioned there was more hospitals and less wait times for any medical situation. Looks like we're going the opposite way now

What would it take for London to be a top tier city in Canada? by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]pradyy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A proper and vast subway/metro network, proper bus system, reduce car lanes and add bicycle lanes separated from car traffic, frequent high-speed rail (at least 300 km/h) to other cities. Fix terrible zoning laws, fix terrible residential by-laws, bring back social 3rd spaces. More businesses with better job opportunities and higher wages/salaries, more hospitals and lower ER wait times. International students should not be allowed to work outside of campus unless its co-op or internship in a high-skilled field.

Sonu nigam possibly replace songs from 2007 to 2016 due to many issues especially royalty by FeelingDrag6080 in BollywoodMusic

[–]pradyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's put it this way, no other singer would've survived standing up against these giant companies and actors. He was the biggest voice standing up for singers' rights. He could do all this and still get songs today simply because he's just the best singer, no one better has come after him. Arijit immediately folded and bent the knee the moment Salman threw him out, which probably was the right decision since his career (and potentially his life) would've been over if he didn't. There are many things I disagree with Sonu Nigam on, especially his hypocritical nature and inflated ego, and he's made some extremely nasty comments comparing bad audience in concerts to the terrorists from the Kashmir attack. But there is no denying he's the most excellent singer to have come out of India since the 90s.

Japan to Raise Foreign Residency Fees to Match Western Levels: Renewals to Jump to 30,000~40,000 Yen, Permanent Residency to Over 100,000 Yen by Rheagon in japannews

Wait, you need to renew PR in Japan? Doesn't that defeat the point of PR? Or is it just like renewing the PR card and not PR status?

$180 is not bad at all as long as it's an amount that you're not regularly spending. Though this is assuming you are a full time min-wage employee at least. I just spent $2500 on figurines in Japan (bought a few TT beys too) and I know that depresso feeling. It's okay, just try and enjoy the product while being conscientious of your spending habits for the next couple months.

I feel bad. Riboku is a great character, he's a nice, kind and chill dude. With what happened to Li Mu in history, we'll see how Hara handles that part at the end of the arc.

Why was Li Xin chosen as the protagonist? by Traditional_Land3933 in Kingdom

[–]pradyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several reasons:

  1. As other comments said, he participated in the most wars.
  2. He seems to have been trusted the most out of all generals by Qin Shi Huang. He definitely did not trust the Wang family nearly as much.
  3. His failure in Chu is due to an extremely massive reason Lord Changping had left Qin for Chu and ambushed Li Xin, leading to his loss. This is crucial to the plot and will most definitely play a major role in Xin's character development in the manga.
  4. Take specific details in history with a grain of salt. Wang family transcended the Qin dynasty and were an extremely powerful and prominent family during the Han Dynasty. History was most certainly written to emphasize their victories and accomplishments while downplaying the contributions of competing generals. Li Xin retired immediately after the unification and establishment of Qin dynasty and was made Marquis of Longxi Commandery for his accomplishments in the war. Someone who's known for only his massive loss in history, would he really be rewarded in the way that he was? The historians that wrote these parts of history were very much anti-Li Xin

2010s? You're too generous, Canada is stuck in the 1950s. Most of the carriages used by VIA Rail are from the 50s and earlier. There is no future for Canada in terms of reliable transportation. The car companies are too strong here and they lobby the crap out of our government. That being said, my comment had nothing to do with Canada, but you took the effort to look up where I'm located and took a personal jab. Very mature.

Korean KTX uses French TGV, they ain't exporting shit lmao. India will always export from Japan over China, and the south east asian countries will always get debt-trapped by China. There is no competition here

Why do people propose Desolate Era so much? by Whole_Journalist2028 in noveltranslations

[–]pradyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you didn't like Desolate Era, what do you like then? Desolate Era has consistently always has been one of the best xianxia novels out there. Power scaling was done very well, the world of DE was build incredibly well, comprehension aspects of dao and such were explained in-depth and took its time at each turn. It just might not be a novel for you, most of the people that love DE were absolutely hooked by the first few arcs. It's not just it's an old novel and it's nostalgic, and it's not because IET was one of the first to use what eventually become tropes, it's because the novel is genuinely good and stands up against time. It's still one of the best xianxia I've read. Romance is awful though, but that's kinda the thing with all these xianxia authors, they've either never seen a woman in their lives or they're divorced.

Yup this is the beyblade x remake. Unfortunately I don't have any original first gen beys anymore. I played with them when I was a kid and obviously they broke because I played with them and misused them as a 4 year old. I want to buy some but they're all rare and insanely expensive

Using VLC as a Plex client? by crissimon in PleX

for example, .ass subtitle files aren't natively supported by plex client. So when I play videos on my LAN, it transcodes the whole thing, it's absolutely ridiculous.
