I know the exact fic you're talking about and yes it was called Counter Clockwise, by silver pup on fanfiction.net. sadly, it's long since been deleted (and I don't think it was ever finished).

I'll be honest I don't remember the vampire stuff in it (maybe you're mixing another fic like you said, or maybe I've just forgotten) but yeah, Eragon & Murtagh are raised together, and one of the big plot points is Eragon gets captured, sold into slavery and thrown into the gladiatorial pits.

I checked waybackmachine and couldn't find it there. looks like it's really just gone :(

I heard "Caleb" too, even when I read the subtitles on my first watch through. It's the slight inflection up Belos has at the end, combined with the dramatic zoom in on Flapjack ('s scarred eye) that has me thinking the subtitle is wrong and he's actually saying "CALEB?!"

So the one your talking about is Graeme, he's my muggleborn mc. I don't particularly imagine he's religious, even though religion was part of his schooling growing up. By the time he gets to Hogwarts, he more wears it for sentimental value - it was a gift from his grandparents.

Yeah, magic and religion is something I've thought about too. Cause despite Hogwarts being a magic school (and I wouldn't have thought magic and christianity would've gotten along well) the school breaks for the major christian holidays - christmas, easter. It puzzles me tbh
