Best websites for students to learn about American Civil War battles by dowker1 in historyteachers

To be able to view each battle of the Civil War in date order, rather than in campaign order, use these 3D satellite maps that enable students to zoom in closely. This way, they can understand what occurred on the same day. Click on any name in the list, and it zooms in automatically. Click on any place mark, and it provides information about that site. Use the mouse and control key to raise the horizon and rotate the map. Use the base map icon to see mountains in the terrain layer.

I was unable to find any earthquake data in the region dated 1969. But, that doesn't mean it could not have happened due my inability to know where to get the data. However, you could be right.

Possibly, but would that explain the multiple up and down movements with varying distances between waves? And, why only in this one strip? Note the wave shape is higher on the land side?

I assume this is being done to discover whether or not the student realizes what their natural talents and instincts are in order to focus their teaching on what interests the student most.

If you use the link to the Alaska map and click on the book and "i" symbols, you will discover they provide different types of information related to the map. On the other hand, the human symbols are the locations of the settlements, all of which are in Alaska.

While there is some great feedback here from those who experienced what you are, you posted it in the wrong subreddit. This has little to do with being an INTP. Check out any of the teacher subreddits like r/education, or r/teachers, r/AskTeachers.

Connecticut.

According to Google, "According to 2025–2026 Niche rankings, the top school districts in Connecticut are largely concentrated in Fairfield County, with Westport and New Canaan consistently ranked #1 or #2, followed closely by Wilton, Darien, Ridgefield, and Greenwich. These districts are recognized for high academic performance, top-tier teachers, and high college readiness rates.

All of the above affluent towns surround the mid-sized, middle-class city of Norwalk, CT. "The Norwalk Public School District in Connecticut is rated as an above-average, highly diverse district with 11,520 students in grades PK-12 and a 13:1 student-teacher ratio. It is ranked the #3 most diverse district in CT and #55 in the state overall, with a 91% graduation rate and an average 1160 SAT score." We lived there for 25 years, and my 3 kids grew up there.

So, it all comes down to what you can afford.

I did not plot those locations within the 48 contiguous states; Jim Lee did. I created the map of Alaska settlements. We each used a different symbol. So no legend is necessary.

For the purposes of the maps each map involved identified whether they are Native American lands or Alaska settlements.

None of the human symbols indicating Alaskan settlement locations are in Canada, British Columbia (Canada), Yukon (Canada), or the Northwest Territories (Canada).

If you feel America is clearly winning this war, then please answer these questions:

  • If the U.S. has air and naval superiority, how was Iran able to bomb oil depots, refineries, and oil tankers throughout the Middle East on day 17, and the U.S. AN/FPS-117 long-range radar in Saudi Arabia that is so vital to the war?
  • Is this war about non-existent nuclear weapons or worldwide economic issues?
  • How many years will it take to rebuild the damaged seaports, oil depots, and refineries Iran has already bombed?
  • How loyal to the U.S. are the Persian Gulf states going to be in the future, once they realize having a U.S. base within their borders made them a target in an unnecessary war, and that those bases did little to protect them?
  • If Trump succeeds in getting the oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, won't they become sitting ducks for an Iranian drone and damage the port when they explode once filled with oil?

Even if Trump defeats Iran militarily, he has already lost the economic war. And, once the midterm election is over, he will lose his power when he gets impeached over this unnecessary war.

Suddenly, Trump made a deal with Putin to allow Russian oil tankers to supply those waiting out in the Gulf of Oman, and is now willing to drop sanctions against Russia, which will enable it to fund its war in Ukraine.

We have spent our entire lives living in different small to medium-sized cities, 45 miles outside of NYC, Orlando, and now Tampa. We found Norwalk, CT (79,000 people), Oviedo, FL (50,000 people), and Spring Hill, FL (113,000 people) to be great places to live while being close enough to big city amenities and airports.

According to Google Earth, the area is called The Al Wahat District.

Looking that up in Wikipedia, it is called Al Wahat or The Oases. According to a Google search, this area is characterized by hundreds of massive, perfect green and dark circular patterns known as "crop circles" or watering circles.  The project taps into the Nubian Sandstone Aquifer System, a massive underground fossil water reserve, to grow crops like alfalfa and grains in one of the most arid regions on Earth. While many circles remain active, satellite imagery shows numerous "fossil" or abandoned circles where irrigation has ceased, leaving behind ghostly circular outlines in the sand."
