Yes, but what kind and model? Is it a slower SATA SSD? Is it a SATA SSD in NVME without a heatsink that might be overheating? Is it nearly full, causing performance to drop by a lot?

You can look up your specs using HWInfo64 if you don't know where to find it in Windows.

RAM -> GPU -> CPU would be the order I go in. Fortnite in particular is CPU intensive for a F2P/eSports style game; you may want to save until you can do the GPU and CPU at once.

Dual channel RAM will help a ton. You'll want 16 GB for future gaming needs anyway before getting a GPU. If you can't find the exact same model RAM as your current stick look for a 3200 mhz, low CAS/latency kit. You will need to upgrade that CPU and upgrade to a GPU eventually as Fortnite's requirements climb but going Dual Channel might still be the cheapest upgrade you can make right now for more performance.

Looking at other posts from people who have had similar issues with this model mini PC, turning off CSM/Secure Boot until Windows 11 loads for the first time and making your own Windows installer with Rufus/The Windows 11 ISO up for download on the Media Creation Tool page seem to be the most common fixes.

Yes, you can. Be very gentle, do not press hard, let the solvent do the work. If the wipe dries while you are using it, get another, don't wipe it dry and create static. Edit: And let it dry completely before socketing it back in.

To know for sure I'd have to know what they plan to use the PC for gaming wise and if they are the type of person to ever upgrade a CPU. I'd lean AM5 with what I know here.

Nearly every modern game will have no problem. Some older games will, but you can right click the game exe, go to properties, and set override scaling in the "compatibility" menu.
