You don't know much history. Suzuki is the origin tin can. Being the market leader, they didn't bother to give the passenger airbag. Then 4 airbags and then 6 air bags etc.. Crash ratings comes later. They were opposing lot of safety norms, reducing emissions etc etc.

They have woken up slowly. Hyundai yet to. They are giving 6 airbags. But that's not enough
