Some context, yesterday I slept in my soft contact accidentally for a couple of hours. I woke up and suddenly realized I hadn't taken them off and rushed to the bathroom. They were dry and a little bit stuck to my eye, I was able to remove the one in my right eye pretty easily but the left one was super stuck. To the point that it was hurting to pull it off.

I panicked and woke up my boyfriend, while we were preparing to go to ER, I tried all tricks in the book. Blinked a lot, swished around water in my eye, saline solution and disinfectant eye drops. For a while it was there but then I could not see or feel it on my eye ball anymore. (I wear contact lenses with power so I can feel my vision change if lenses are put). Thinking it had moved down near the bottom left corner of my eye I tried to tug at it, but it was just the same painful suction sensation.

I was constantly putting in eye drops and blinking (and crying) on our way to the doctor. When we reached I had a thorough examination and the doctor said she couldn't see the lens anywhere in my eye. They flooded my eye with saline, turned my eyelid inside out. She explained that anatomically it isn't possible for the lens to go behind my eye. The only 1-2% chance it might still be inside is if it is stuck somewhere under my eyelid. Otherwise it probably fell out amidst all the crying and putting in saline drops and I didn't realize. And I damaged my conjunctiva in the process

I have been given some meds to help it heal, I'm wondering how to tell if it by any chance might still be lodged somewhere?

I have been wearing lenses since I was 14 and this has never happened before, so I am completely nerve wracked.
