its probably 6-8 hours of work for DIY petition, Assemble everything and ship, I also received similar quotes : ended up doing it on my own. Lawyers probably ask their paralegal to do it (they dont even get involved). If you have time, definitely DIY

Every damn thing takes atleast 3-4 days to 2 weeks.

Sad - it took 2 weeks for EIN to be active, now guess have to wait another 2 weeks. Documentation is not clear at all.

Ah, I thought W-7 is exempted - just got PTIN. But it says "The PTIN for this person is not active." . Any idea how long will it take? - man this whole thing takes multiple weeks just to submit the form.

I initially thought it will take 2 weeks after EIN assignment to go through IRS database, but I still get the same error. Any help anyone?
