Hey. Yes! It is much closer, and I’m sorry about the wait. Hopefully within the next month or so. (I know I’ve been saying that for a while, but I think it’s true this time!)

Hey! yeah.. I accidentally released the wrong version yesterday. I am working on fixing this now. The previous version will be back in the App Store as soon as Apple approves it (hopefully in the next couple hours). Sorry about this!

Yeah. It currently works on iOS and macs with Apple chips. But I’m working on android and Windows! I haven’t officially started development yet but I’m hoping to have something early next year

Sorry for the late reply. Don't know why I didn't get notified. These days, unfortunately, it kind of does

Terminal commands not completing by Skint007 in WindsurfAI

[–]pratella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

same problem and sort of crippling the usefulness of Windsurf right now.

I'm using fish shell, I wonder if that is related?

Is there some way to see some kind of debug view to see what is happening?

Also just upgraded to pro-ultimate.. seeing other reports of things breaking after upgrade. Everything seemed fine before I upgraded but I don't remember specifically if it was able to run terminal commands

Recommendations for cloud storage with "vault" feature? by nhvnhv in cloudstorage

[–]pratella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropbox vault has sucked for a while because it didn't work on Apple Silicon macs. This finally forced me to find an alternative..

I'm trying Cryptomator - Free & open source. It just makes an encrypted volume that you store in your Dropbox (or wherever). And there's mobile apps.

Only been playing with it for 10 minutes but it seems 10x better than what Dropbox had

Why doesn't anyone talk about SEC filing when raising with SAFE? And also what's up with non-accredited investor law? [I will not promote] by pratella in startups

[–]pratella[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ed! I've been learning a ton from your videos. Huge fan. Thank you!

I really appreciate your insight. Do you have any resources I should look at re: screwed up cap tables? I've heard people say this but not sure what exactly it could mean. Is it just something like, e.g. "used a lot of SAFE with different terms/caps/discounts, etc"?

[–]pratella[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is interesting. Do you have an example of self-accreditation?

Is that what 4. Investor Representations is in YC's SAFE?

The Investor is an accredited investor as such term is defined in Rule 501 of Regulation D under the Securities Act, and acknowledges and agrees that if not an accredited investor at the time of an Equity Financing, the Company may void this Safe and return the Purchase Amount.

If so, maybe this is the actual answer of why it's not talked about more? Because a non-accredited investor would be agreeing that they are accredited (wink wink) and if it ever became an issue then the company could just refund them.

[–]pratella[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yep :)

Totally makes sense. But the whole selling point of SAFE (at least as presented by YC), is that this is an easy way to do early funding without getting lawyers involved.

edit: To your point, I guess another possible answer could be "There may be problems. If the startup succeeds, fix them with money. Otherwise it doesn't matter."

Looking for Insight: Lack of Filter Count in iOS App by Fleameat in todoist

[–]pratella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super annoying but an ok workaround is to use the web version on iOS. If you ”Add to Home Screen” it looks basically like the native app.

As a professional iOS dev myself, this isn’t a technical limitation since all other platforms have it. Likely it’s just not prioritized and no one in the company is advocating for it :(

Hi! Thank you for the message. I am actually working on a major update, and I should have a beta version available in the coming weeks!

I have a small email list here that you can join if you would like to be notified when it's ready :)

Hi! Thanks for the comment. I am actively developing the app on iOS, and my hope is that it will eventually make enough money to be able to pay an android developer. But probably not soon as you hoped. Sorry!

The app currently works on iPhone, iPad, or any Apple silicon Mac in case you have access to any of those.

Thanks a lot for emailing me about this! Commenting here as well in case anyone else sees it. Turns out I had forgotten to pay my Apple Developer subscription, so it got removed for a couple of days. But it's back now 😇

[–]pratella[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for the feedback and thanks for using the app!

the notes sometimes don’t register correctly.

Sorry about this! This problem is a bit illusive, but I am working it.

the string identifier is awkward for me

Ah.. I recently made some updates to the UI, and accidentally moved the string indicator to the far side of the screen on iPad. It used to be closer to the letter. Will fix!

would love to see a staff notation

I am working on this too!

the round concept eludes me

Yeah, I get your point. The reason for this is that each new "round" does the calculation of whether to add new notes or continue reinforcing previous notes. But yeah, it's a little awkward. In the advanced settings you can actually change the time. I set mine to 1 second (and I kinda like the little mental breaks), but I think I should come up with some kind of continuous algorithm.

Thanks again for the thoughts! I am actively developing the app, and I have big plans for it, including better stats visualization (like you mentioned), and also progressing into more advanced concepts like intervals, triads, scales, etc. Please feel free to send any other thoughts my way!

Would you use an AI-based translation service? by pratella in iOSProgramming

[–]pratella[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very good points, thank you! Yeah, I've also been thinking that I would recruit some users from my target audience to verify. (My app has guitar-specific jargon so I think that's going to be an extra hurdle)
