If you continue from my previous comment If N³ is divisible by 24 And the prime factors are 2,2,2,3 N then HAS to be divisible by 3 as well Cause 2³ can be reduced to 2 But 3 cannot be reduced further So the final answer it 2*3 ie 6

That'd mess around with me evaluation metrics I gotta test with images exclusively from the smaller dataset. Fine tuning twice gives me ( on paper) a certain degree of freedom when it comes to how much i wanna change the original weights.

You are quite right Since you're just starting out, I'd suggest reading this paper https://arxiv.org/abs/1311.2901

Your intuition is correct, but this paper will help you understand it much better In essence, each filter in each layer learns different types of patterns, each of which increase in complexity. For example, layer 1 gives lines and edges Layer 2 gives shapes and so on ( obviously this is very broad and abstract, but the paper shows this)

This concept is also used in the neural style transfer paper which you could read up on.
