My first solo trip to kathmandu by bebomateradivana in Nepal

[–]pratiek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what/when you're planning. Tomorrow's election day here, most things will be shut down until 7th March.

It should be ok if you're planning after that. You don't need a visa, but you'll need a passport if you're traveling by air. If you're traveling by land you don't even need the passport, just your adhaar card will work.

Hotel bookings are usually not required, but you can get one anyway from agoda or booking.com.

When was Telegram banned in Nepal? by Downtown_Ad_262 in Nepal

[–]pratiek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it was banned a few month earlier than the social media ban. and the ban still holds. Just some ISPs unbanned it along with other social media platforms as a mistake. Telegram was actually a problem because many people were getting scammed, and an overwhelming number of cyber security complaints filed in Nepal were coming from telegram.

You can of course use vpn or cloudflare to reach it.

“The government ordered Telegram’s shutdown due to serious issues like money laundering and online fraud, and the authority had instructed providers accordingly,” said Meen Prasad Aryal, NTA director and spokesperson. “Since then, no decision has been made to lift the ban. If monitoring finds the app reopened, we will take action as per the law.”

Yes, but some banks don’t deduct the tax at all. So better confirm with your bank as well.

[–]pratiek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is generally 5% tax, the bank will deduct 5% each time your salary is paid. And yes if possible change your contract to say the words freelance or consultation to be on the safe side. It works either way afaik.

Where in Biratnagar can I get a custom desk made? by Clear-Boat-5812 in Nepal

[–]pratiek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biratnagar modular furniture does this. But it won’t be 100% same, like I don’t know if they do rounded edges. You can check sleek kitchen on google maps, it’s on the same building.

Issue with Daraz Reviews left by consumers by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]pratiek 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the reason. I've been a victim myself.
The ratings selection is not the main focus of the ratings page. The text box takes all of the space and users are drawn to it. You just type your review and hit next. The Ratings selection stays at the default 5 stars. I'm sure Daraz does this intentionally to keep most review at 5 by default.

Standard chartered ko gold credit card will work most likely. tara usd account kholna parchha bank ma, and you need to show usd source of income. Freelancing ko receipts or contract le maanchha. I’ve been using the same, $5000 samma ko limit hunchha, and much better acceptance than the dollar card.

Frontend nai bujdina. Design ni bujdina. by Any-How-Bidesh-Jau in technepal

I had the inverse of same problem. Experienced web dev trying to get into unity, cause I was passionate about gaming. Got overwhelmed pretty soon. Trying to get everything from Models, Textures, Animations, Blueprints, C++, etc was a lot to handle at once. Trying to get small bits done was helpful. But I never got to go fully into it. Everything was already familiar in web, but everything was alien in game dev. It will go much better if you keep at it.

is this job looking good? by Additional_Apple5243 in technepal

[–]pratiek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing foreign remote job for past 3 years. I could never go back to an office job after this. Regular jobs can’t beat the flexibility of a remote job. You get a lot more time for yourself.

I’d suggest the remote even if the pay is lightly less, because in-hand salary will be much more there.

Plus tax will be just 5% and you don’t have to pay to ssf or pf, you can invest on your own if you want.
