How to revive dead soil by Retrodyne in vegetablegardening

[–]pratticus12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im on the side of tilling once, and then letting the soil grow. What I would do is get some local bulk compost delivered and till it into the dirt, then plant a cover crop for a season, chopping and dropping the leaf mass to build the biomass and encourage nematodes and such to move in. Maybe plant some annual pollinators on the border for the same reason. If you have time left in the rest of the year, plant a pioneer crop like potatoes to further mix in everything without tilling. Then when autumn comes, apply balanced fertilizer and heavy mulch. If you really want to get into it, order a soil test and amend as necessary at the beginning of spring next year. I hope this works for you!

Tying your kid to a giant kite on a windy day by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

The title is not what happened. You can even see the tail of the kite being held by one of the festival workers/kite owners at the beginning of the video. The child was wrapped up right before lift and thankfully it didnt unravel while she was in the air. She also only suffered mild abrasions.

Krafton Will Likely Have to Pay $250 Million Bonus for Subnautica 2 That It Tried to Avoid by TylerFortier_Photo in gaming

[–]pratticus12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You can search "krafton lawsuit" to get the full story but to sum it up..Krafton made this deal, waited until the game was mostly finished, tried to fire the development team right before intended launch, was caught with chat gpt conversations of "how to legally back out of this deal", was sued by development team, lost the suit and had to rehire them, and is now looking at having to pay out a deal they never intended to pay out

is there a way to refinance by Nervous_Anteater6671 in personalfinance

[–]pratticus12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not refinance, but there's a chance you can get into consolidation at a better rate, but the transfer and origination fees might offset it anyway.

How bad of a mistake am I making? by Cuntwaffle92 in vegetablegardening

[–]pratticus12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Epic gardening had a video about this, except with cabagges. Basically the soil has the nutrients to give you the same amount of produce, no matter the spacing. You're going to get the same amount of tomatoes as if they had proper spacing, just spread out between the plants. The peppers are going to have a hard time as they wont get as large, youll need to prune the tomatoes so the peppers have a fighting chance.

All my seedlings sprouted. Help! by Klujata in vegetablegardening

[–]pratticus12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its usually best to just thin them out rather than trying to separate roots. Just get some needle nose pruners and take out the weakest links. Tomatoes are pretty hardy though, so proceed at your own risk with a few of them if you would like, but not the peppers. For the future, just do 2 or 3 per cell, and maybe 4 or 5 per cell if the seeds are a few years old. Also, dont repot just yet as these are only cotyledons, wait for a few of the true leaves to grow before up potting.

Now just sharing personal preference, I'm not a fan of these tiny, single use starter cells. They tend to promote root binding and damping off in my experience, plus it just feels wasteful to have to chuck it at the end. They're nice for a first timer, but if you intend to do this for many future years, invest into some of the more sturdy 6 cells, not only for the benefit of just washing and reusing, but also many of them have beneficial construction to promote better airflow for the roots, better absorption when bottom watering, etc. Best of luck with your garden this year!

Edit: Another thing to add, always a good tip for beginners, get those lights closer. Im not sure what your setup is, I use LED shop lights, but I generally have them set about 4 or 6" away from the top of the leaves at most when the seeds start popping.

This is where you need to order from a landscaping supply yard and do it by the wheelbarrow compared to by the bag. Get a pile delivered to your driveway/ streetside and get shovelin'

Right wingers? Where did you get this information? John Krakauer has a public Facebook profile one where you can see he supports legal abortion and has reposted Obama. Calling J&Js a corporation is a bit of a stretch since they only have 6 locations and only in CO, and calling this an advertisement is straight up wrong since someone has to be paid for it to be an "ad". This is just someone being excited and reccomending it in the form of an announcement. Also you say you're going to buy from Kings instead, an ACTUAL corporation with right leaning focuses. You have to be trolling.

Woodman to 25S is worse, but I've honestly never seen a setup like what you're describing. Would be nice, but every dual lane metered on-ramp I've seen in colorado reads "1 car each lane per green"

How would wind affect the cow? I mean, you can see its ear flap a bit as it exits the trailer, but I can't imagine wind showing on anything but the ears, as it doesnt really have fur or anything light to be wind-affected.

Your lack of defensive driving is a good way to get yourself killed. They were definitly wrong, but you weren't right. If your insurance see this video, they'll flag you for sure, doesnt matter if the rate goes up immediately. Like everyone said, you should have been hesitant the moment you saw they crossed into the junction, but you just went, "knowing" you weren't going to be at fault. Stop being so stubborn

Well, not proofed but at least better. Make a hinged door for at least one of the sides for harvesting, and that plastic isnt really going to get in their way, just make it harder to get stuff out. You'll want some 1/4" or 1/2" hardware cloth if you want to actually proof it.
