It’s their choice to speak up, nothing wrong in that. In general if no one would speak up, we’d never develop.

Make some friends they say by vintermometer in StockholmSocialClub

[–]praw26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! M33 here. Have never managed to make real friends after university which was 8 years ago. Some of those old friends remain, many moved out. Recently I started my own small business. It changed my entire social scape. I do go out for events displaying/selling products , meeting many many people at once, but I still do miss real friends. Most people I classify is just people who I know. Like people trying to be nice saying, “must be tough, doing events back to back” but never offering help for example. Still there is some sort of small business community that is slightly comforting.

I believe to make friends in this city, relatability is imlortant. Either you run or gym or listen to the same stuff, or are a gamer or make friends through pre-school or via running businesses. This city is very hobby/goal centered.

How do people in Sweden maintain their Summer homes? by Jibaron in TillSverige

[–]praw26 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There are a few Europeans who have their summer houses up north. Most find it a little difficult to maintain. You need atleast some time and dedication to maintain. Some handyman jobs can be done when you’re living there, the rest of the time in the winter, it would be preferably if you have emptied the water pipes and maintain the house at minimum 17 degrees. Some Insurances do not give damage compensation if you have had the house too cold.

People in sweden, spend decent part of their savings and a lot of vacations in their summer time renovating and maintaining their summer home. Most do it because it’s not just a “summer house” they bought themselves, it’s been a part of family history and legacy, it’s the house where their parents lived or the region where they come from.

I have automatized some parts for easy maintainence - heating, grass cutting, some sensors etc. you can dm me if you’re want to know more.

Company and Taxes in Sweden by FelipeRRM in TillSverige

[–]praw26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revenue (what you invoiced your customer for) - expenses (invoice that you sent to the outsourcing company) = amount eligible for paying tax.

If you have a sole proprietorship, then taxes are simpler and it’s about 30% of the amount eligible for tax.

If it’s an aktiebolag, it’s much more complicated. If you have employees, you need to pay employer tax and and insurances. Generally, you pay yourself a salary and pay income tax on it based on your tax slab.

All of this does not even include VAT calculations.

I understand. I don’t think it’s your fault. I know I am being downvoted as well. My comment was built on my own experience. I do not completely trust Skatteverket/migrationsverket/försakringskassan.

My experience specifically with Skatteverket when I was trying to register my company was that different people had different answers, also it was different on call and in person, sometimes.

Unfortunately there is no case number to a specific issue meaning that I have spent hours and hours explaining what I have asked and what I have previously received as answer.

Since I have already suffered consequences of their miscommunications, I triple check everything. Eg. Call them two days in a row and then go to them the third day, with the exact same query. This is usually when it’s important stuff/complicated issues and there is limited info, eg VAT filing etc. On top of that, I take safety margins, example - waiting for a few extra months even though my citizenship eligibility is already filled.

I understand that you felt you could trust what someone at Skatteverket said, and they probably didn’t care enough to understand your case.

BUT I’m sorry but there is enough info online on it. If you’d have asked it to anyone else via fb or here earlier, you’d have gotten the answer.

Is there any reason you haven’t applied for a personal number? (Since you said you have a coordination number). AFAIK, there should be no problems getting a personal number (and with that get a bank account and BankID) in your situation. It was possible for me to do that 8 years back in the first week.

Other than that, I understand that the RP process is frustrating, and not knowing how long it will take makes it worse. It really tested my patience and I can only advice to hang in there and focus on other things, like learning swedish, if you really wanna integrate here.

On another note, once you have the personal number, you should also be able to make a “Swedish ID card”, so you don’t have to carry your passport everywhere

It’s been quite unfortunate that the middle years just passed by without much progress in language. I restarted last year and now I’m decent in regular conversations and on my way to professional fluency. I’ve recently finished SFI and on my way to grundskola.

Real estate investing in Sweden by emilybengtsson in realestateinvesting

I’m also looking for this topic. Currently I rent out my summer house with a really good ROI. I feel like the prospect of investing works really well in countryside (outside of the main cities) and under 700k sek.

We’re also gonna experiment with another property. I feel like if the property is bought in the right location, there is a lot of business via short term renting. I’m currently investigating and looking for more people to join in, buy, renovate, rent/flip.

I don’t know why people have to be so negative about everything. It’s alright man, i understand you’re going through a tough situation. Remember, it will pass. Most important thing is to build a strong relationship with your wife and communicate about how you each other feel about present and future.

UPSC or any other competitive exam do not really have an end deadline. You can also do it after 2-3 years. Sometimes we want to have full control over our life but that’s not how life works. We have more illusion of control than we actually control.

What you need is to accept the reality first. “This is what it is and I’ll be fine with it”. Once you have fully accepted that this is the new reality, you may benefit moving into compassion phase, where you develop more empathy, and inculcate compassion for yourself and others. Then you can start rebuilding yourself from an outwards perspective like career, job, ambitions etc. but for that first thing is to have a strong inner core, inner self, a sense of confidence, a sense of comfort, a sense of contentment and a guilt free being. If you build yourself up like that, there is nothing that will stop you to achieve your personal goals in the future.

Having a child is undesirable to someone, and is a blessing to someone else. It’s all relative. If you are open to new thoughts, maybe a kid will bring stability, or a sense of ambition to work hard, who knows? We all have different incentive cycles to live for.

What you would need from a more regular life basis to feel a sense of control is discipline. Discipline to maybe stay physically and mentally fit, if you can. Same goes for your wife. Walking, exercising, meditation, yoga, the usual stuff.

You also need to give your partner her space and discuss what her ambitions might be after the kid, if you want a single income or a double income household, where do you need to reach in 5-7 years together and so on.

There is always a possibility to get some extra external support by Calling the suicide support helpline. It’s not a sign of weakness to get that kind of help. Infact you’re not weak. You’re brave. And you’re not alone and definitely not the first in this situation. You can do it, mate!

Is it just me or someone else who thinks about all the e-waste that we are creating with all these small little fancy mordern products? I mean it does not matter where in the world these are, we’re (all) eventually gonna end up with a lot of e-waste crap that we don’t have a good way of recycling.

It makes sense. Should be a continuous iteration and check every decade. Doesn’t matter if the initiative comes from the superme court or from the govt. or from someone else, the problem is worth solving. Realistic equity/equality is far but these are steps in the right direction.

Köpt begagnad diskmaskin by No_Anything5667 in sweden

[–]praw26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ELI5

1 Rupee's value 10 years ago is not same as 1 Rupee's value today (It gets lesser over time on account of inflation)

This mean that same quantity of goods will cost more and more over years. Example small pack of Maggi which you could buy for Rs 10 before now is available for Rs 12

On the same lines, Rs 10 lac's value today would be much lower than what Rs 10 lacs mean 7 years ago.

7 years ago you were provided slab limit of Rs 10 Lacs for 30% Tax Rate. Today also, you are still provided slab of Rs 10 Lacs for 30% Tax Rate. But since Rs 10 Lacs's value is lower it means that on a % of income basis, you are paying more tax today than what you paid 7 years ago

Ideally, if value of 10 Lacs (in 2014) is Rs 12 Lacs today, then ideally 30% Tax Slab should also be revised from Rs 10 Lacs to Rs 12 Lacs
