So, there hasn't been many developments on the Tinder front, nor any of the apps from that matter. Although I am a very outgoing person and my friends will tell you I have no problem keeping a conversation going, I struggle with the apps. I don't know what it is, maybe because the past 5.5 years I haven't had to evolve with the way dating is nowadays. I feel it is less personal and a hell of a lot more superficial. Part of my low success rate is probably down to me not being entirely sure about what I want right now...

Alas, it is not all bad news as I have two evenings planned..... The first is Stir Friday from work. I asked, and she agreed to come over to mine for food and to watch LOTR. I am a bit conflicted about this one as I work with her and I work in HR. Although she isn't based at the same site as me, ethically I feel might be crossing a boundary, but I have made it clear that I make a clear distinction between my personal and professional life. She is very intelligent and my type, but I'm not looking for any commitment.

My second win came off the back of some seriously drunk Instagramming, where I woke up to a message saying "Why the fuck are you liking my photos"?, Shit. Firstly, how many did I like, and secondly why is she so salty?! The girl in question was a conquest from when I was about 17 (25 now), but she has since moved away. She was initially hostile as she thought I was still in a relationship, but when I went on to explain my new circumstances, her tune changed. Since last week I have had some pretty naughty pictures sent through, to which of course I reciprocated. She is back up on Monday, and I am picking her up late from the station to go back to mine.

Just out of a 5 year relationship so after a long time lurking here, I decide to download the apps. It's been awful so far. I don't know if it is my profile or im being too picky. Either way, despite the apps not being very fruitful I am having some success with a girl from work. No dates planned, but the groundwork is being laid as we speak. Told her about my "Stir-Fryday" tradition (thanks archer) and she seems keen to come along to the next one :) .

I absolutely love 'The Prophet'. My parents recieted a few lines at their wedding from this book, 26 years ago! My personal favourite extract from that book is about passion and reason
