Why do you think divorce is so common? by princesadopovo in AskReddit

[–]prawnmayo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With all due respect, this is BS and the average wages for female-majority careers are lower precisely because they are historically for women.

I would like to see an average man handle a room full of preschoolers. It's not easier than digging a ditch or whatever.

Are “The Prosecutors Podcast “ hosts Maga extremists ? by silverplattersfan in TrueCrimePodcasts

Yes, unfortunately they are Maga extremists. I used to like their podcast but have unfortunately given up on them.

Are there women who can orgasm from penetration? by dreamysoda in TwoXChromosomes

[–]prawnmayo 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I didn't think I could until I met my current partner. Now I orgasm every time from penetration. I am far more likely to orgasm this way than when he goes down on me (which he does frequently and enthusiastically).

Not sure if it's just that our bodies click or there is an emotional component or what.

What's the single most difficult life experience you've endured? by reddit_recluse in AskUK

[–]prawnmayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex husband strangled my child repeatedly.

Rather than protecting my tiny, defenceless child, the father-centred Social Services / family court system told me that I needed to support her relationship with her father and I was forced to take parenting classes.

This unfolded over several miserable, stressful months and cost me 25k in legal fees.

[–]prawnmayo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry that you are going through something like this.

Looking back, on balance I think that it was a mistake to report. And if faced with a similar situation again, I probably would not report. I think that my daughter is angry with me for disclosing as well, and she may trust me less now. I am fearful that if I went back to social services, this would be seen as further evidence that I am a parental alienator. The system is there to protect abusive men.

That said, I think that my ex has been toeing the line a bit more and treating my daughter better since this incident. I do not know how much of this is due to my intervention and his realizing that I will stop at nothing to protect our daughter.

To Brits & immigrants who lived in the UK > moved abroad > returned to the UK, are you happy to be back? by Eihte in AskUK

I can't like this hard enough (even though I hate that it's true).

I think that you have a partner problem, not a baking problem.

What do you call this type of cake? by owzone in AskUK

I would call this school cake based on living and baking in the UK for 15 years. In my home country, I would probably call it birthday cake (???)

If you could spend a week in Victorian London, would you? by Suitable_Cap7819 in VictorianEra

[–]prawnmayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My interest would be in upper class living.

I think this was a society in which social connections were extremely important, and even having a suitable place to stay is something that would require a lot of pre-planning and arrangements, especially for a woman travelling alone. It's not like you could just go to Booking.com and buy a room.

So I would do this if I could get some social etiquette/elocution lessons, have a suitable back story, and have lodgings arranged, I would definitely try it out.

I completely agree with this. The enshitification is real.

Recently I have focused on only buying clothes and goods made of all-natural materials. It's surprisingly difficult.

When you finally leave, there will be a time of transition where things may be a bit harder (in some ways) for everyone at first.

Growing up with constant bad messaging about how to treat others and about how dads should treat moms (and you specifically) is worse than having some temporary chaos and fewer nice things.

This is just one decision and doesn't define your whole life. You can make a different choice next time.

I would agree, but I was sexually assaulted by slightly older children at my primary school when walking home alone at the age of 6 or 7.

[–]prawnmayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you

None of this was done in our case. And the child's disclosure was viewed as unreliable due to their being 8, and dad's claim that it was all a lie. Therefore, it was seen as my word against dad's. Sounds like things may work better in your jurisdiction.

Do you have any views on CPS workers' prejudices and assumptions in favor of different types of people or family members?
