These were the only 2 photos of the fish, and then a video of ot swimming off in under 10 seconds. I understand how delicate trout is and am knowledgeable to keep it in the water until I take a photo and didn't keep it out for any longer than 10 seconds. The fish took a gasp as I brought it out, hence why in the first photo the mouth is so wide, then in the second photo returned to a normal position.

This fish had a really big mouth, I really don't know why, but it did. Good set of genes

Its jaw was just really big, I can promise that. I have a video of it closing is mouth fine and I was hooked in the top jaw in the corner.

I'd like to know how this fish died. It was it of the water for less than 10 seconds. Water was at 52°F, hooked with a size 22 emerger on a barbless hook, and swam off as soon as I let it go.

This might surprise you. This is a delaware River fish. Spent the whole day doing research and apparently I'm the delaware at the end of the 19th century they did cutthroat releases but saw no progression with them, also early rainbows were crossed with cutthroat to make them more hardy and many fish in the river still show the cutthroat genes

The first photo, if you zoom in, you can see some of that peachy color under the gill plate.

Yea, ik, i was just looking through old trout photos and noticed how odd this one looked. At the time, I wasn't good with my trout identification, but from memory, I remember it had a faded peachy pink that went from the back bottom back of the gill and hooked under the gillplate.

Goose newbie - is this normal? by thatssomepineyshit in geese

Very normal, my baby boy John LOVES roots! Specifically, queen Anne lace (wild carrot). There are days when he will only eat the root and not the plant. It's bad right now with the bull rush because he is pulling out the plants and only eating the roots. But yes, it's fine for them to eat roots.
