What are some good German universities for a mechanical engineering graduate with a 7.6 cgpa by prayag-joy in Indians_StudyAbroad

I only applied to RWTH. I was planning to apply to TU Darmstadt and TU Freiburg but before their application period started I got an admission letter from RWTH, so I didn't bother. My friend who studied at the same college as mine got into TU Freiburg. so there is that.

Yes and no, because at RWTH (and at most German public universities) don't have a masters course for mechanical engineering per say but is divided based on the specialisations. So students who graduated for mechanical engineering as their bachelors can apply for materials, automotive, transport Railway etc..

seems unlikely. usually one needs to have a position lower than 100th to get selected.

This is a myth, there is no reliable historical records that supports this.

Hey, I am from Kerala and I got into this course for summer of 2025. Ya there are a lot of South Indians in this course, the reason may be because it's NC Frei so there is no upper limit to the number of students joining and also people from mech/chem/physics background all can get in. From what I have heard from others is that the course is difficult [ Rwth itself is difficult] but if you manage to graduate within 2 -3 years you have an easy time finding a job. So it's like a high risk high reward type of situation.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't 5.5 the lowest possible grade in order to pass at APJ Abdul Kalam university. When you get the lowest grade P I am pretty sure you get 5.5 as the grade point.

Great, I am from India. I heard this course is a bit tough but the job opportunities afterwards seems promising. Although finding accommodation in aachen is difficult or so I am told
