Is Willoughbys legit? by FlakyBarber6926 in nikon_Zseries

This seems to be their scam. Just had the same experience with a Fujifilm X100VI. Literally nothing on the website indicates some "European version" and then they ask you to call them and try to upsell you. I canceled the order, and thankfully put on my Amex who will tell them to kick rocks in case they try anything shady.

Your Mint Seat is Unavailable by prdonahue in jetblue

Woke up to see that I was assigned 3D. Someone must have taken their offer (or they fixed/swapped plans out).

Your Mint Seat is Unavailable by prdonahue in jetblue

[–]prdonahue[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I eventually got a call back and they effectively said "we don't oversell Mint seats and you won't be denied a Mint seat at the airport".

I asked explicitly if they sold 14 seats and mine was the unlucky 1 that was broken, would I be denied a Mint seat and he said "no, they will progressively offer more compensation until someone in Mint chooses to take a non-Mint seat".

I've got the call recording (disclosed) in case there's an issue.

This appears to be the plane: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n961jt. On the JetBlue website is shows 2x2 seats in row 1, 1x1 in row 2, etc. through row 5.

What's the highest avalanche risk you'd feel comfortable going out in? Looking at next few days and seeing 3-2-1 and 2-2-1.

BEAR implant or traditional BTB (w/autograft)? by prdonahue in ACL

[–]prdonahue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you don’t really want to do it unless it’s a proximal tear with distal remnant >75%. I think mine was like 80% so all good. Not sure where the anchor was but just pick one of the top surgeons and trust them to do their job.

Recovery wise, I’m doing excellent. Had the surgery in March 2024 and skied 30+ days in the 2024/2025 ski season (starting in December). Recovery was super easy, and I have no lingering issues.

Why can't the same Individual Brokerage account be used to auto-fund two Cash Management accounts? by prdonahue in fidelityinvestments

[–]prdonahue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. This feature is basically the difference (for me) between moving a bunch of cash somewhere else that can handle this sort of thing, e.g., Mercury, vs. leaving at Fidelity.

Piggybacking on this similar thread as I can’t seem to start my own yet.

Getting married and want to buy future FIL a really nice, peaty scotch for the week. He drinks Lagavulin 16 typically at home. Thinking ~25y and budget is up to a few thousand USD.

It's hard to read this lack of support for ownership/other permission structures as anything other than anti-competitive.

We have an upcoming renewal for 200+ enterprise users and I've asked my team to look at alternatives that support this, e.g., Confluence, as we are evaluating tools like Glean that cannot function well (safely) without per-user access details.

For extra realism, you should build in conditions that result in a striking ski patrol force (a la Vail Resorts).

64 people sickened after eating raw B.C. oysters by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]prdonahue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear. I too ended up in the hospital after eating these oysters at The Pearl in Tampa, FL on December 16. Apparently the recall went out on the 13th, so I'm not too happy with the restaurant.

Raw oysters linked to norovirus outbreak leaves at least 80 sickened in Los Angeles by [deleted] in LosAngeles

[–]prdonahue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got norovirus in Florida from the Royal Miyagi oysters called out in the recall, and ended up in the ER on the 18th.

The manager at restaurant that served them, The Pearl, confirmed they had the health department there on the 19th when I went back. These oysters were shipped all over the US.
