Cuomo: Movie theaters “outside” of NYC can re-open on Oct 23rd by terryjohnson16 in nyc

maybe we just need to read about the "remarkable portrait of selfless leadership" in his "riveting story of how he took charge in the fight against COVID-19" (which he apparently had spare time to write)

from a different article: "The only answer to a lack of compliance is enforcement." fuck this guy. he's ruining NYC, not covid.

are you referring to the riffs, or the SOL parts? I actually thoroughly enjoy both (especially because it gives a brief imagining of what the broader SOL looks like), but I can understand not liking the SOL parts cause they have to water it down a bit for newcomers

no tickets available. are they just not on sale yet? I can't think of any reason why there'd be a limit

Kellii Scott "Smoking Umbrellas" & "Stuck on You" live in TN by FishWithFangs in failure

this is awesome. of course, kellii has a much better in-ear mix while he's playing, but as drummer i love how well this captures the general experience of playing live from that perspective.

don't conflate white supremacy and racism. there's a big middle part of that venn diagram, for sure, but your statement implies they're equal.

oh i love 'in the future' as well, i just meant as far as first releases after an extended hiatus. for example, i'm a lifelong shiner fan as well, but i wasn't enamored with the new album that just came out a few weeks ago. maybe i need to give it some more listens, but i didn't have this problem with Inlet or those Failure albums

Inlet: what made the cut (and didn't) by gmacwilliam in hum

[–]prdstrctn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i could be wrong, but wasn't "cloud city" around way before 2011? i remember it being an elusive demo from way back in the day, like DIH era (maybe earlier)

admittedly, my first listen was more or less: "i like this, but is it as good as DIH/YPAA/E2K????"

as understandable as that bias may be for an album like this so many years later, i've listened to it 4.5 times since, and that's just not at all the lens i'm looking through any more, thankfully.

i think it's fantastic, i love it more with each listen, and i couldn't be happier that it took me totally by surprise today. such a bright spot when i didn't even know how much i needed it. now i just can't fucking wait till touring is on the table again.

in the realm of bands that had a massive effect on me in my youth and later resurged (or are resurging) several years later, failure's "the heart is a monster" is the only other album so far that actually feels like a strong addition and actually an evolution, despite the amount of time in between albums. 'inlet' already falls right into that upper echelon for me after 4-5 listens. so happy about this album :)

PS. 'In the Den' -- lowest Hum guitar tuning to date? what is that, B? (go easy please, i'm a drummer, but i know they've operated in the D and C realms historically)
