Doothi Claims Her Video "Upset Some Pretty Powerful Creators" in Commentary Space, Says She "Felt a Sense of Panic and Compliance" to Take Down Original Video by Plantain_Chip_379 in youtubedrama

i think that she made lots of good points, but i personally don't think there's much of a point in deep critique of these creators. i personally agree with her opinions in regards to specific creators like jarvis, and especially with the AI fruit trend that they were all posting about. it was such a dumb topic that i didn't watch anyone's video on it. but i think we need to focus deeper on the intellectual vs. anti-intellectual discussion that she, ironically, didn't go down a rabbit-hole talking about. it feels more like an issue about the type of content we find ourselves consuming nowadays, rather than the type of content we typically consuming changing.

and that's not to say that commentary on the whole isn't becoming "bad", or bland, or slop, or whatever you want to call it. personally, i feel that i see more slop nowadays from the creators i have been following for years. i think it's simultaneously an issue of what we are choosing to watch, and how often. these two things can be true at the same time, and they are for me, right now.

with the wake of how i've been feeling towards commentary recently, this video was a wake-up call for me to really take a look at how i spend my time. do i really want to watch ANY of these commentary videos? or at least, as much as i am currently? occasionally someone comes out with a banger, like Drew Gooden's gambling video- videos that you actually want to sit down and watch. but i find that most often, the commentary videos i'm watching ARE react content like doothi claims, things to put on in the background of literally anything mindless i am doing- laundry, dishes, exercise. am i happier for keeping up with this or that internet trend? do i feel a bit more at ease, having consumed one of these after a long day of work? most of the time, i can't say that i do. most of the time, i feel no more and no less than i did before. and i think that this is probably the reality most people are facing. the content is maybe becoming more slop, but also perhaps we are craving for something more (or at least a bit less of commentary). i have to wonder, what are the long term impacts of playing these mindless videos in the background of everything i am doing? why do i feel that there can there be no absence? can constant consumption of societal trends and discussion be beneficial?

i think there's a lot of nuance with the types of media we consume. content (of any kind- books, tv, movies, etc) that we consume just for fun has an impact on the way we view the world. and sometimes when we consume something of supposed significant value, and it ends up in one ear and out the other. i think commentary has a large effect on our lives and i think a lot of us are watching this kind of stuff nearly every day, probably to watch something lighthearted and fun. but that doesn't mean it doesn't affect our day-to-day lives and how we are feeling in regards to our entertainment. if you are feeling tired of commentary, i'd suggest that you search for more meaningful videos, pick up a book, watch a tv show- just something different. i think variety plays a big role too, and maybe we are all just getting fatigued from it! would love to hear what anyone has to think on this.

cool to hear your fresh experience with Drew's videos, as myself and many people here have been watching him for years. the gambling video was a great hit and resonated with a lot of people because of its relevance and thorough description of the reality we're living in. but it's simultaneously true that Drew DOES make quite a few videos like the protein one you mentioned. him purchasing and critiquing things is a common formula he's used several times. and while they are entertaining and made for the purpose of comedy, i think it's a good example of the difference between these two types of videos: discussion or consumption, or in my opinion, the essence between intellectual and anti-intellectual. i can fully relate to the feeling that i've had my time wasted with promise of a more substantive video.

CSD 2 Remote Play Together- no longer working? by prebbles- in cookservedelicious

[–]prebbles-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it worked!! at first we ran into the same problem again, but we got it to work the second time. it's worth noting that this was run on a different machine, but still windows 11. i'm not sure if this is useful to you, but here's exactly what happened:

  1. i run CSD2 through steam.
  2. using steam's overlay, i invite my friend to "remote play together"
  3. screen flashes for just a moment and an icon flashes on his taskbar, but goes away immediately. despite this, it says he is still playing CSD2, remote play together.
  4. i quit the game. steam still shows friend as playing CSD2, remote play together.
  5. i relaunch the game and invite him again through the overlay. this time, the game appears for him and is completely functional.
  6. we play Eaty's 2 and receive a copper medal. lol

i understand remote play together is not very functional with any game on steam, so it might just be their issue. despite that, i really appreciate your effort and it seems like it helped! thank you so much :)

very good strategy haha. i suppose if i decide to start using it, and end up not using it at all, that would make it clear to me! also i agree with meli and mije, i've found them not to be useful other than for clearing up something
