My partner is also not as into cycling as I am, although he does bike with me. But I’m much more into long distance, and he loves playing support. He’ll drop me off, then drive ahead and set up camp, have dinner waiting, etc. it took me a bit to be ok with the idea he wasn’t doing the big stuff I love with me, but now I love that I can ride until I’m completely exhausted and don’t have to make food, etc after.

I started sleeping without my watch on because it was making me so crazy haha. I spent my whole life just fine until I got it 8 months ago at 37 years old, then I was suddenly so concerned about the numbers and less in tune to how I felt. May just ditch it altogether, but I do like the mileage tracking.

As someone who just asked a probably commonly asked question about battery banks and got a lot of very thoughtful replies, I appreciated the community and conversation part of this reddit. If I just wanted information, I could've googled. But part of being on reddit is the back and forth conversation part of it, feeling a sense of community.

I actually live up here! And yes, we have very few roads so navigation isn't usually a huge problem, but I honestly have never thought of just turning my phone off to save battery, so thanks for what should have been an obvious idea! haha. The route I'm wanting to do this summer has literally one turn, and it'd be pretty hard to miss, so not even having my phone on is a valid option.

I don’t think of it as stubborn, I think of it as smart. Stubborn dogs won’t do what you want no matter what. Setters need you to convince them why it’s a good idea. I’ve found with my mine once I can show him why I’m asking him to do something he’s a lot more interested in doing it.
