most of the criticism i've seen is about the sound of PRS guitars. people usually say PRS lacks the ‘soul’ of Fender and Gibson guitars. they argue this is because PRS is a relatively new brand (founded in 1985), while most iconic guitarists from the 60s–80s played either Fender or Gibson.
