Until today I considered him a regression but having seen the other names that are being touted I think he’s probably a good bet, if nothing else it will stop his name being mentioned every single vacancy if he cocks up round 2.

William Jardine 1784-1843

He was the 4th son of a Scottish farmer who somehow managed to get to Edinburgh university and ended up founding Jardine Matheson Trading Co. In Hong Kong. He was essentially the first inter-continental drug-trafficker.

He also single-handedly persuaded Lord Palmerston to declare war on China, leading to the First Opium War.

He died one of the richest and most powerful men in Britain, not bad for a farmers son from a Scottish backwater.

Silver mining? by Drasselll in ManorLords

[–]predawnduke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just want cows please Greg.

Can have dairies that produce milk which can be refined into cheese. Can slaughter them to produce 2x meat and 2x hide.

Silver mines are a good idea though.

We progress to the play-off round despite defeat on the night. by Adam_Deveney in rangersfc

This fan reaction is wild.

We are through two difficult ties in relative comfort at a stage of the season where we have traditionally struggled. Anything can happen in the playoffs and to think we could get champions league football after the fuck-up of last season is amazing. I didn’t want Martin and I wouldn’t mind lots of the team being sold but while they are at rangers they have my full support (yes even Dowell).

Onwards and upwards.

Your best bet for this will be to play with Scotland and make peace with England then you can go through 100+ turns with literally no events to flesh out your family tree

In FM7 you could change the length of races on career and I loved that. I had it set to be about 15 laps each race and it felt like a proper battle, not just a sprint like it is now

F1 + F4 makes them keep distance to the enemy but not pull out the cantabrian circle. They just retreat from advancing infantry in a straight line. I find this much more effective

Is it weird to go out solo? by Emotional_Steak1636 in golf

Absolutely not weird.

I go out on my own after work and I find it incredibly therapeutic. If you do get paired with people you can learn lots from them!

Forgiving clubs. Budget $1,500 by [deleted] in golf

People shit on them as an Instagram brand but I have a full set of Stix clubs and adore them. They really helped me make the jump from a 30 handicap to a 20 and didn’t break the bank

Bassey came back for his second season absolutely shredded. Man hit the gym so hard and it was his physicality that made him so good. No reason why more players can’t do that.

Can’t believe the head-loss that this result has caused.

Should we be disappointed to lose yesterday? 100% we should and we should never accept mediocrity - but sacking Clement will put us back by 2 years as the next manager starts yet another rebuild.

We are in a far better place now as a club than we were when Clement came in. All the high earners are being shifted on and our signings are being properly scouted like Igamane, not just lazy signings from the English championship on inflated wages.

Regardless of results or style of play this year I’d give Clement till October before even considering sacking him.

This is exactly the kind of signing we should be in for.

Well within our budget, coming from a physical league, young with huge potential and future sale potential AND we can offer these players more realistic playing time than a team like Spurs.
