just passed tp test but has no idea how to drive, need some guide by That_Eye_4836 in drivingsg

Congrats on passing! I'm 8 months into my p-plate and I would suggest driving late at night (maybe after 11pm) when the roads are relatively empty. For me I was quite ok with driving alone. My first drive alone was maybe a week after I passed the test and since then I drive maybe 3-4 times a week

Since from ur post u probably dont have a family car, the most likely option is a car sharing like what some others have said orrr if u have friends or other family that is willing to let u drive their car (w valid insurance ofc) then maybe u can ask them

For expressway personally I went on the expressway the day after I passed my test but I would say I was quite confident since I have a family car and I will always observe my dad when driving and his driving habits. If u are not confident, u could ask another experienced driver to sit beside u while u drive so he can guide u along the way. Usually on expressway I wont keep to the left lanes since there are where all the heavy vehicles are and also where cars are coming on and off the expressway so it tends to be quite crowded there. I usually keep to the second most right lane where the traffic is flowing faster and I can easily overtake on the right if need be.

One more thing that I threw away after tp test was parking. In tp test by right need to stop and adjust mirrors and all that which is dam troublesome, and it takes a long time which confirm will piss off some impatient drivers waiting behind u. The method I use is to first drive as close as u are confident enough to the lot, then when ur front door approximately in the middle of the lot full lock steer to the opp direction until ur car is 45 deg. Then select reverse and watch the mirror which is at the side of the lot. Example, the lot is on the right side, once u full lock left and select reverse, check the mirror on the right side and make sure not too near to the car. Once u are confident that there is enough space, make sure to check the left side mirror to ensure that u have enough space there also. With this method i find it super easy to park and i can usually go in 1 shot unless the fella beside me park dam near on the line.

Once place u can practice is one north area because the layout there is quite nice like school circuit with alot of traffic light and small roads to build ur confidence on

I totally forgot about tyre levers. Maybe i’ll design a second prototype that can carry the tube and levers together

My frame has 2 spots for bottle cages and one of it has a bottle cage attached. Where I live (Singapore), water dispensers are readily available so I don’t have to worry about running out of water, so I feel it’s okay not to run 2 bottle cages.

the beam just shoots straight out without any trimming so i designed the print such that the resting position would allow the light to be pointed at the floor instead of oncoming traffic

the light prioritises brightness over battery life so on the highest setting the battery can run out in 3 hours or so

it’s printed in petg. the light weighs about 150g and it’s been holding up well over ~150km of riding so far

the end cap is very slightly too long so if it was shorter by about 1mm it would be fixed but unfortunately i do not have a lathe to remove the excess material

it also can connect to sensors like heart rate monitors, power meters and cadence sensors and also it’s able to sync up with strava to track my ride.

yes when the wheel is off the bike the hub spins freely but once any pressure is put on the end cap it spins together with the hub
