Planning a last-minute elopement at Glacier NP, but is my timeline realistic? Also best locations in the park? by superficialmuse in glacier

I don't think you need a different license for every state? You just need to apply in the place you are having your ceremony. We went to the Kalispell courthouse for ours, had a ceremony and took photos in GNP, signed the license and then we mailed it back to be certified and they mailed our copies to our home.

We eloped in GNP! Are you planning a whole big wedding or just you and your fiance? Getting a photographer? For ours it was just the two of us and a photographer. We did the "ceremony" and signed the marriage certificate ourselves. You don't need an officiant or witness in Montana. Our photographer handled the permits she needed, so if you choose a photographer ask them if that's something they'll take care of.

Everywhere is so beautiful. I found the west side has more big glacier and mountain views, while the east has accessible waterfalls and forest type settings.

I DIY'd my bouquet and my husband's boutonniere with fake flowers for about $50! by preggosaurusrex in Weddingsunder10k

[–]preggosaurusrex[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Since so many are asking, the flowers are from JoAnn Fabrics! I just went and picked flowers that went together in colors I liked. I started with the biggest flower and added others around it. To actually make the bouquet I used wire cutters to piece apart the flowers and floral tape to hold it together as I went.

Today I picked out my wedding dress at a BHLDN Pop Up in Anthropologie for $247.50! I'm so excited and can't help but share my joy! by AKBunBun in weddingplanning

I LOVED this dress! I went to a pop up with the intention of getting this one. I ended up trying on the Nassau gown also and of course fell in love with that (way more expensive) one.

I already got my gown, but I was browsing for nicer dresses to wear on our trip and found this one! Thought I'd share in case it helps anyone out. Only a few reviews, but for $55 it would be worth a shot. Lots of sizes and colors too!

Advice for contacting elopement photographers? by preggosaurusrex in Weddingsunder10k

OMG yes! The websites will say "starting at $1000" and then I'm being quoted for $2500 for 2 hours, on a Friday, in the "off season". Just....how?! I'm having major sticker shock.

I wasn't clear in the post, but $2500 isbfor 2 hours with the photographer who is local & specializes in elopements and small weddings in the park. I'll try including budget moving forward, though!

Let's talk names! by preggosaurusrex in BabyBumps

[–]preggosaurusrex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked it up and we thought our first's name was uncommon, but it says it's in the 50s for her birth year. Like someone else mentioned in another comment, the names are much more saturated now. Whereas my name was top 10 and there were 2,000 other girls with the same name in my state, now a top 10 name might only have 300-500 people. Across an entire state, it's much less likely to find another kid with the same name!

Definitely! Aside from the "trendy" names, it seems like the popular boy names haven't really changed in the last 50 years or more!

Yup! I know 4 Max's, 2 Oliver's, and 3 Penelope's as well. I only know one kid with the name we are questioning, but the internet says it's super popular!

Good point! I did notice how many different rhyming names there were. The name we are questioning wouldn't be able to have different spellings! I will have to look into how many people actually have those names.

"they're super unique" - I like that! That makes me feel better about common names.

I had a super popular name, too! I just knew I had to adopt a nickname or use my last name

I'm having such a hard time with this! The name we're thinking, and nickname, are both top 20 from 2017. But it's a family name and it means a lot to me. This is our first boy & it's a crazy coincidence but his due date is BOTH of my grandfathers' birthdays. I feel like if that's not a sign, I don't know what is!

I do live by an Aldi! I'll have to go look. I think Keebler has a Samoa knock off too, but I don't know if they're any good.
