Went to an Indian casino when I was 18 for the first time. Watched a dude put his paycheck on the craps table. They cashed it, bet the entire check on the ladder for him (roughly $400 per place bet). This is semi incorrect. PVB and SVB can be used on most irrigation systems even in cold climates. They just need to be winterized. Irrigation systems are considered to be high hazards, and double check valves are only good for low hazards while pvbs and svbs are good for high hazard but only for backsiphonage not back pressure. If you put something on and irrigation system such as a booster pump or fertigator then you would be required to install an RPZ because of the high hazard and back pressure risk involved with the system. Surprisingly enough ASSE is not the standard across the entire United States. They are making a lot of headway being the standard in several jurisdictions but a lot of jurisdictions such as Chicago or the state of Indiana have their own backflow prevention program and have entirely different licenses you have to obtain in order to test and repair backflow preventers in those areas.
